🇨🇦Toronto Pearson International Airport: Air Canada Portal ✈️🛬
#February Good Places 2025
Toronto, the bustling heart of Canada, Toronto Pearson International Airport has become an important gateway to the East with its aviation poetry. In 1937, the airport was established in Malton, then known as Malton Airport, to serve local aviation needs, and in 1948 it was expanded into Idlewild Airport as a modern hub. In 1958, the Canadian government acquired the airport and renamed it Lester B. Pearson International Airport in 1963 in honor of Lester B. Pearson, the 14th Prime Minister and winner of the 1957 Nobel Peace Prize. In the 2000s, the airport completed the modern expansion of Terminal 1 and Terminal 3. Glass curtain walls and streamlined designs show a futuristic feel, handling 44.8 million passengers in 2023, making it Canada’s busiest airport, especially on cold winter days when snow covers the runway.
Inside the airport, Terminal 1's glass dome reflects the sky, Terminal 3's streamlined architecture extends into the clouds, the runway is like a silver line across the snowfield, overlooking the outskirts of Mississauga, planes take off and land through the clouds, autumn dusk, the sun shines down the terminal, as if time is still; Operating 24 hours a day, year-round, explore this poetic portal of Air Canada anytime. ✈️🛬
