🏖️Ambiance/Facilities: Mirissa is a wonderful tourist attractive place in Sri Lanka. there is so many beaches like turtle beach, Coconut hills with sea beach. water color is fully blue like maldives, sands are red and black. there is few sea fish BBQ shops and restaurant. overall my experience was fantastic. 🗓️Itinerary Scheduling: i started my journey as a solo traveller from Negombo airport to nearest bus stand by tultuk, fare is about 300 LKR. Negombo bus stand to Colombo bus stand by mini bus (320 LKR). after 10 minutes walk ahead i reached at colombo fort railway station, bought a train ticket for galle (500 LKR). Colombo-galle train journey is my memorable journey. i explored galle fort, that was an ancient place, and i tested some local mouth watering delicious dishes as well as grilled sea fish. i also visited Nuwara eliya, Ella, Kendy. specially i would like to mention about Adam's Peak, and some landmarks in sigiriya as well as Nine arches bridge, tea garden, hills, waterfalls. sri lanka is so cheap for all travellers. i used local Transport for moving around the country. happy travelling🥰 journey.

We dined twice at the p13 restaurant, which offers a nice ambiance and delicious food, though it includes service and card fees. Things to Do in Mirissa Coconut Tree Hill is a must-visit spot for sunset views in Mirissa. We arrived at 6 PM, just in time for the sunset, but it's advisable to arrive earlier to secure a good spot for photos. The nearby beaches are stunning, and the seaside swings make for great photo opportunities. Whale Watching in Mirissa Sri Lanka is one of the best places in the world for whale watching, offering great value for money. Located in southern Sri Lanka, Mirissa boasts a 98% success rate for whale sightings from November to April. Tickets cost $50 for adults and $35 for children, with tours running from 6:30 AM to 12:00 PM, including breakfast and hotel transfers. The tour picks you up at 6:15 AM, with a 15-minute drive passing a bustling fish market. Whale watching boats have two levels with seats available on a first-come, first-served basis. Life jackets and seasickness pills are provided, though we opted for our own remedies from home. Stilt Fishermen Stilt fishermen gained fame after appearing on the cover of Lonely Planet in 2009. This unique and ancient fishing method, known as the "world's coolest fishing style," is a must-see in southern Sri Lanka. Historically, fishermen couldn't afford boats, so they erected wooden poles in the sea and sat on them with fishing rods. The Rock View Place, located on the road from Mirissa to Galle, is a popular spot to see stilt fishermen. Photos without fishermen cost 1500-2000 LKR, while photos with two fishermen cost 3000 LKR. Despite some complaints about the fees, the experience of sitting on a pole and fishing is worthwhile. Accommodation Mirissa's main street features a stretch of sandy beaches and a beautiful coastline on one side, with hotels, restaurants, and dive shops on the other. It's recommended to choose a hotel close to the main attractions for convenience. On the seventh day of our trip, we went whale watching in Mirissa. Having experienced dolphin watching on a spider boat in Bali, the experience in Mirissa felt a bit lacking. We traveled a long distance but couldn't spot any whales. However, we did encounter several pods of dolphins. As soon as they were spotted, all the large boats would speed up to chase them, but by the time we got there, the dolphins had already disappeared. I still fondly remember the dolphin watching in Bali, where we were surrounded by dolphins, feeling as if we could reach out and touch them. In Mirissa, I managed to spot three blue whales, capturing the moment and leaving no regrets in Sri Lanka! ⏰ Duration: The usual time is from 6:30 to 10:30, but we spotted the whales in just two hours, so the captain decided to return early, considering those who might get seasick. We were back by 9:30. 🎫 Tickets: 365 RMB per person, including hotel transfers to the pier. Breakfast (sandwich, water, and fruit) is provided on board. I booked directly online through a reliable platform, ensuring a fair price and good service. I had heard about people being overcharged locally, so I opted to book online to avoid such issues. The service was excellent, ensuring a smooth boarding process. The same provider gave me great advice for my Yala Park Safari, saving me unnecessary expenses. 🔖 Onboard Experience: 1️⃣ The boat has two levels; the first is for crew operations. The second level is for passengers, with seats on a first-come, first-served basis. Some seats were reserved, likely for an extra fee. The boat can accommodate about 80 people. Some passengers sat on the deck for a better view, but it was very sunny. 2️⃣ The sea was calm, and the boat's gentle rocking was almost like a cradle, making me sleepy. The crew provided seasickness pills, but I didn't need them. 3️⃣ An English-speaking crew member guided us, using hand signals to point out whale directions.
