Reasons to go to Ouro Preto in Minas Gerais
I never knew I HAD to go to Ouro Preto till I went to Ouro Preto.
The city is completely amazing, is like going back in time and learning a lot about how Brazil is rich in arts, architecture and culture.
I would recommend to stay at least 3-4 days, I stayed at “Casa dos meninos”, a house builded aroubd the 18th century, if I recall correctly, with 4 floors but separated rooms.
If you have the chance, go to every church and listen to the group guides that pass trough you, each and every one of them has a different vision of history and will give you a complete history class about the places.
There’s also the oldest theatre in Latin America, which is still running and full of great attractions.

Great Barrier Reef looks like a smile
If you view it from a greater distance, you can see a smile in the turquoise ocean.🐠 Captured here by @theverticalpixel.
We want to spotlight some of the world’s most vulnerable species on our planet. They cannot run away. They cannot speak up. They manage to survive so that we can continue to see the smile one day when we visit.
📍Queensland Mainland, Australia 🇦🇺
Great Barrier Reef is the most extensive coral reef ecosystem on the Earth where 400 types of coral, 1,500 fish species and 4,000 types of mollusk inhabit here. For its remarkable diversity and beauty, the Great Barrier Reef was recognized as a UNESCO site in 1981. However, it been facing threats like rises in sea level and water temperature caused by climate changes.
The Great Barrier Reef gives us a smile, what should we give it in return?🌱
Treehouses are only for kids?
No way! The majority of treehouses are designed for adults to provide a peaceful refuge from the city. People may take nature for granted, but reconnecting with it after spending so much time in cities may help you reclaim your #vitality and refocus on yourself.
Every now and again, we all need a vacation from the rat race.

Igreja Nossa Senhora da Boa Viagem Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Every detail of the Cathedral of Notre Dame in Itajaí is breathtaking. Maybe this is how the fairyland looks like. Catedral Diocesana Nossa Senhora Do Seringueiro has the highest altar and is one of the business cards of Brazil. If you want to make your picture different, it is necessary to take a photo with the Juscelino Kubitschek Bridge.
Diamond Museum Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Diamantina, a city of diamonds hidden in the deep mountains of Brazil
Brazil's Minas Gerais state has four World Heritage sites, and except for one in the state capital, Belo Horizonte, which is more academic and less appealing for enjoyment, the other three are great for visiting. The Black Gold Town, which is closer to Belo, is the most visited, but Diamantina, a bit further away, is quieter and also a very beautiful colonial town.
Diamantina is more than a 5-hour drive from Belo, and the scenery along the way is particularly beautiful, so taking the bus is not too tiring. The town was built because of diamonds, and its name, Diamantina, contains the word 'diamond'. In Brazil, apart from Rio, the great waterfalls, and the rainforest, the rest of the attractions are mostly visited by locals, and East Asian faces are even rarer.
The town has three famous houses, one is the historical Diamond Museum, one is the former president's residence, who built Brazil's new capital, Brasília, which is also a World Heritage site, and the last one is related to a famous woman.
𓆡 Internet: From last year to this year, from the Middle East to South America, I've been using Yidian connection phone cards, and the internet speed is quite good, automatically activated upon arrival. A card is valid for six months, and each recharge resets the validity period for another six months. So if you continue to use it, you don't need to buy the package with the card later on, which is cheaper.
𓆈 Most importantly, when buying internet, make sure it allows access to foreign apps, like Google Maps is essential.
𓆉 Bus tickets: It's best to buy them at the station, as it's more expensive online, and in this state, you still need to print a paper ticket.
𓆏 Accommodation: APARTAMENTOS ALTOS DA GRUPIARA - DIAMANTINA/MG, a guesthouse without breakfast, personally, I think the view from the balcony is very beautiful.
The sunlight in Brazil is super strong, and it's amazing to see Brazilian women in Diamantina using umbrellas to shield themselves from the sun, it's truly powerful.
Minas Gerais state is indeed Brazil's major mining area, satisfying the greedy desires of Portuguese colonizers with various minerals. Black Gold is gold, Diamantina is diamonds, and another World Heritage site, Congonhas, is gold plus iron, as mentioned in the previous article.
