This kind of small shop, not located in a tourist area, feels only nearby residents will come to help, but the hut made of red brick walls, and the large "きりんCafe" sign, feels local and very leisurely, so we were attracted by this atmosphere to try. There isn’t much seating in the restaurant, but it feels clean, bright and concise, with wooden tables and chairs with dark floors that match the restaurant’s name, Grove. "Kawa no Eki" is also used as a dock for the Japanese boat "Mizuki" that connects Kawasaki and the shrine port, and the station-style building was built in the image of the streetcar that once ran through Ise City. Hinjitsukan, located in Futami-cho, Ise City, Mie Prefecture, was built in 1887 as a rest and lodging facility for guests visiting Ise Shrine. The building was completed in just two months to coincide with the visit of Empress Eisho (mother of Emperor Meiji), and is a masterpiece of Japanese architecture that brings together the skills of leading architects and craftsmen of the time.   Inside the building, you can feel the development of architectural technology and design from the Meiji period to the early Showa period, with a 120-tatami large hall and a Momoyama-style coffered ceiling with chandeliers, creating a space that blends Japanese and Western styles. The garden is also one of the highlights, and the scenery changes with the seasons, captivating visitors.  It is currently open to the public as a museum, and historical documents from that time and works by local painter Sashu Nakamura are on display inside the building. If you are visiting Ise Shrine or Futaminoura, be sure to stop by the Binichikan and spend some time experiencing the atmosphere of the Meiji period.
