Megijima, also known as Onigashima, is about a 20-minute boat ride from Takamatsu Port. According to legend, Momotaro came here to fight demons, and there is a statue of a demon at the port of Megijima to welcome tourists taking the ferry. Afterwards, we went to visit the mysterious cave of Onigashima; there are various legends in the cave, some say it is the hiding place of the devil, it has a very atmospheric atmosphere, but some of the ghosts are very cute! Instead, after passing through the large cave, there is an endless 360-degree unparalleled sea view of the Seto Inland Sea! When you’re near the pier, be sure to check out the adorable line of seagulls lined up on the breakwater. Introduction to Megijima Megijima is a small island located about 4 kilometers east of Takamatsu City in Kagawa Prefecture, Japan. Covering an area of just 2.62 square kilometers, this island is known for its unique history and natural scenery. In Japanese folklore, it is referred to as 'Onigashima,' the dwelling place of demons in the story of Momotaro. Megijima boasts abundant natural resources, including beautiful beaches, dense forests, and spectacular caves. Every spring, the island's 3,000 cherry blossom trees bloom, attracting numerous visitors. Additionally, Megijima is one of the venues for the Setouchi Triennale, showcasing many contemporary art pieces, adding cultural charm to the island. One of the best ways to explore Megijima is by bicycle. A 20-minute ferry ride from Takamatsu Port will take you to Megijima, where visitors can rent bicycles at the tourist service center 'Oni no Yakata' at the port. Here is my cycling itinerary: ⭐️Starting Point: Oni no Yakata Departing from the port, first head to Oni no Yakata, which provides maps and tourist information to help plan your trip. ⭐️First Stop: Onigashima Cave Cycle to Onigashima Cave, a mysterious spot said to be the dwelling place of demons. The interior of the cave is spectacular, allowing visitors to feel the power of nature. ⭐️Second Stop: Washigamine Observatory From the cave, continue cycling to Washigamine Observatory. This is an excellent spot to view the panoramic scenery of the Seto Inland Sea, where visitors can overlook the entire island and the surrounding seascape. ⭐️Third Stop: Seagull Parking Lot Ride along the coastline to the Seagull Parking Lot. Here, 300 seagull sculptures created by artist Takahito Kimura are displayed, swaying with the wind to create a magnificent sight. ⭐️End Point: Megijima Port Finally, return to Megijima Port to conclude the pleasant bike tour. Visitors can enjoy local cuisine at nearby restaurants and purchase souvenirs.

Japan Kagawa Setouchi Art Festival: Female Wood Island This female wooden island is also known as the ghost island, mainly because of the island's particularly famous attractions, Ghost Island Grand Cave. I listened to my trembling, until I saw the first ghost looking at me with a smile, I was relieved, this "ghost" is too cute! There are a lot of artworks on the island to see, from Takamatsu by boat for an hour to go ~ and there is a male wood island to go.
