[Matsu‧Attractions] Daqiu Island-A Paradise for Sika Deer
Daqiu is the only uninhabited island in Matsu that can be visited. It is located on a small island north of Beigan Island.
In the early days, there were still hundreds of garrisons and residents on Daqiu Island. Only a few old houses covered with ivy remain on the island, telling traces of the past. In recent years, with the renovation of the trail around the island and the successful restoration of sika deer, Daqiu has been transformed into a "sika deer paradise". If you go to the island early in the morning, you will have a good chance of seeing the beautiful figures of sika deer. To go to Daegu, in addition to the county government's regular flights during the summer, you need to charter a boat.
When we arrived at Daqiu Island by boat from Nangan,
The captain will arrange with everyone to sail in 2 hours.
Please be sure to return to the pier to gather and board the ship~
In addition to the original access road, an ecological trail was later built on Daqiu Island.
There is a section of the ecological trail under the shade of trees, which makes it easy to walk~~~
The main purpose of our visit to Daegu Island is to see the sika deer!!!!!!!!!!
The biggest surprise was the high visibility of the sika deer!!!
The sika deer on Daegu Island have gentle and kind eyes.
Not afraid of people at all~
Other tourists on the boat bought food that the sika deer loved from Nangan and brought it to feed them~~
Because sika deer are also afraid of heat,
On the cool ecological trail, you can often see sika deer enjoying the cool air in the woods and watching the sea.
The sun shines through the branches onto the deer.
I almost thought I had entered a fairy tale world.
The picture is so beautiful that I can't forget it until the end of the trip~
Note:
1. From June to September every year, the Lienchiang County Government arranges boat trips to Daqiu Island, where you can also enjoy the coast, settlements and seagulls of Beigan from the sea.
2. The Daqiu Ecological Trail is about 1-2 hours long. The weather is hot in summer, so please prepare tea and sunscreen.
3. The sika deer on the island are wild, and most of them will stay cool in the woods (sika deer are also afraid of heat!), so please be careful and quietly look for deer in the woods!
4. There are public toilets on Daegu Island, so you don’t have to worry about not being able to find a toilet during your two-hour stay on the island.
5. Herbal tea is sold on the island. It is made by boiling local herbs. I think it is very special. You can try it.
