The Long Poo is well know in Chiang Rai
This is one of the well known temple where the Long Poo contributed a lot of love, time and well fare to the people at Chiang rai, and also call a Lucky long poo.. he first built the temple followed by a hospital that look like a ship.. I could said I’m lucky to get to see him when I arrived the temple, initially, I am curious a big groups of people waiting outside a small room, I asked one of the staffs where can I see a monk, I want to do some Tamboon which is also known as contributing to the monks and the death from a poor families, he directed me to the small room, I have mentioned above.. people is like lining up for buying a limited edition hello kitty or waiting for Cristiano Ronaldo signature.. hence, i decided to wait. When come to near my turn and I’m the only foreigner, I could see him not in the rush to reply and bless the netizens. Come to my turn, I don’t know how to speak Thai, I used google translate to support me, without talking much, the long poo ordered one of his help to bring what I needed and I am called to wait outside for a while, I thought I said something unpleasant.. mins later I was given a white envelope and a monk saris and re queues for my turn.. when is my turn, I was shocked that he know how to speak English and prayed a prayer and blessed me, by saying what u did is right and want me to keep contributing to the needy. After see him, I went to google and found out that he also contributed a lot of things to the society in Chiang rai.. and he age is not young already, but he don’t look at his age.. in addition, this temple become one of the must go places in Chiang rai as it have a beautiful structure which took a very long time to planned and constructed by this Long Poo.
I think if u planned to go to Chiang Rai, I will advise u to rent a car to drive a round rather than just book a tour and bring u to places that they(drivers) can earned benefits from. On the trip, I used the trip.com apps to support me to plan my route at Chiang rai.. I also went to Blue and white temples as well as the hot spring wells.. I still recommended this iconic temples to give u a peace and fulfilment after returning to your country.. u will never regret for going..#Wat Huay p#Wat Huay pla Kang, white temple and blue temple..

huge white Buddha with 9 floor pagoda
this is one of the best temple complexes in Thailand! from far away, I was able to see the giant white Buddha on my scooter. it is not too far away from city, it took us around 25 mins drive from city of Chiang Rai to this temple complex. we arrived around sunset time! the view from there is absolutely breathtaking. the cool thing about this complex is that it opens till 9pm, and after the sunset, the light switched on, the temple and pagoda look extremely beautiful. to go up, you can either take the elevator or walk up the stairs, you will not regret! there are also free shuttle bus services to take you go around!

Discovering Chiang Rai’s Blue Temple
🔷✨ The Blue Temple in Chiang Rai is a mesmerizing oasis of tranquility and spiritual splendor. As I crossed the threshold of this architectural gem, I was immediately captivated by the ethereal blue hues that adorned every intricate detail, creating an otherworldly atmosphere.
The exterior, adorned with delicate carvings and shimmering blue mosaic tiles, set the tone for the celestial beauty that awaited within. The temple's design seamlessly blends traditional Thai and contemporary artistic elements, creating a sanctuary that feels both timeless and modern.
Stepping into the main hall, I was greeted by the resplendent sight of a majestic white Buddha bathed in a soft, celestial blue glow. The interplay of light and color created an aura of serenity, inviting contemplation and inner peace. The walls adorned with vibrant murals depicting celestial scenes added to the temple's allure.
The meticulous attention to detail extended to the surrounding structures, including the library and prayer halls. Each element, from the ornate windows to the intricately carved dragons guarding the entrance, spoke to the dedication and craftsmanship that went into creating this sacred space.
The courtyard, adorned with sculptures and lush greenery, provided a peaceful setting for reflection. As sunlight filtered through the blue-tinted windows, it cast a gentle glow, enhancing the spiritual ambiance of the entire temple complex.
Climbing the stairs to the elevated terrace offered a panoramic view of the surrounding landscape, with the temple's blue and gold facade contrasting against the clear skies. It was a moment of pure awe, a visual symphony that celebrated both the earthly and the divine.
Leaving the Blue Temple, I carried with me a profound sense of tranquility and wonder. This sacred haven is not just a monument; it's a testament to the harmonious intersection of art, spirituality, and nature. A visit here is not just a sightseeing experience; it's a soul-stirring journey #thailand #chiangmai into the sublime. 🔷🌸🙏 #tripstars
Wat Rong Suea Ten (Blue Temple)
Wat Rong Suea Ten – more commonly known as the “Blue Temple” – in Chiang Rai is a place of worship that has an ordination hall, a pagoda, statues and more in every shade of blue imaginable.
The main ordination hall at Wat Rong Suea Ten is protected by two large naga that are painted in vibrant shades of blue, gold, and purple.
In addition to the temple’s unique colouring, visitors can also appreciate the consistency and symmetry that comes with Wat Rong Suea Ten’s design.
Wat Rong Suea Ten is a less-crowded and equally-beautiful alternative to the White Temple in Chiang Rai.

Wat Rong Suea Ten (Blue Temple)
Another architectural marvel here is Chiang Rai. Beautiful structure and outstanding craftsmanship say it all. I was super impressed with the dragons guarding the main temple.
The area is smaller compared to the White Temple, but it’s good to come early if you want to avoid the crowd. We reached early morning and were happy (peacefully got the pictures).
And please do try the ice cream with pea-flower sticky rice, served at the shops adjacent to the temple.

Wat Rong Khun - White Temple Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
White miracle
Wat Rong Khun or White temple is the most beautiful temple that must be visited when travelling to the north of Thailand.
It amazes with its beauty, mystical creations and graceful forms.
This temple is very different from ordinary temples in Asia and is a modern embodiment of the author’s idea. A lot of meaning is hidden in this beautiful and unreal place…

To get a people-free shot of the White Temple in Chiang Rai, follow these tips!
⚠️⚠️⚠️If the sun is out, don't forget to wear sunglasses, or you might get blinded by the brightness.
🛕White Temple (Wat Rong Khun)
The White Temple, also known as Wat Rong Khun, was funded and designed by the famous Thai architect (and former painter) Chalermchai Kositpipat. The modern temple is decorated with fragments of mirrors on its pure white exterior, shining under the sun.
The White Temple is not exactly a religious place, as you can even see various cartoon and sci-fi characters in the murals. However, you should still respect the local religious customs and avoid dressing too revealingly.
When you arrive at the White Temple, you might feel like you're traveling in China, with numerous tour groups entering. Staff members with loudspeakers will remind you not to linger at the entrance bridge.
Yes, the White Temple looks like heaven, but the entrance is like hell. Don't look back when you cross the bridge!
The toilet in the White Temple is all gold, aptly named the Golden Toilet. It's probably the most photographed toilet.
🛕Photography tips
Among the three famous buildings in Chiang Rai, the White Temple and the Black Temple are the most beautiful in my opinion. The Blue Temple is too 'cartoonish'.
It's really hard to take photos on the bridge when it's crowded. If you want a wide shot, it's possible from the stairs closest to the exit.
You can use decorations to block tourists at the corners.
The terrace connecting the two main halls is a good spot for people-free background shots from either side.
The open space on the side of the White Temple is also not crowded.
🛕White Temple in Chiang Rai
Address: Chiang Rai Housing 1, San Sai, Mueang Chiang Rai District, Chiang Rai 57000
Opening hours: 8:00-17:00
Admission: 100 Thai Baht (cash payment at the entrance)
Wat Rong Khun - White Temple
#thingstodo
Pretty astonishing architectural monuments.
It is just outside of Chiang Rai, but probably one of the must-sees in comparison to some other temples.
You have to dress politely as usual and pay
100 Baht per person, which is absolutely fine. It is a bigger place with several buildings (not just the temple itself). Great to walkt through, recharge a little bit, before the next trip starts.
Additionally there is a chance for additional trips / exhibitions for an extra charge, but we did not went through those add-ons.
The unique beauty, the whiteness and the delicate architecture make it a stunning temple to see. It is one of the most beautiful temple | have seen in Thailand. It gives you the feeling of being in a wonderland;
Depending on the angle and how it shines, it looks like it is made of ice, lace, glass or porcelain, it is really one of a kind temple.
The temple is outside the town of Chiang Rai. For travellers without a car rental or a prebooked tour, you can just hire a taxi from Chiang Rai, it is not expensive.
Possibly one of the most stunning temples you will ever see. It glistens and sparkles white all day. Parts of it were restricted when I visited but this isn't all the time and it doesn't really take away from the views.
The surrounding lake is full of healthy fish and the gardens are well kept.
Various shops and, surprisingly, inexpensive restaurants line one side of the temple grounds.
100B as a tourist will get you into the temple grounds including a buddhist cave installation, an art gallery and an exhibition hall with various bits of history to study. Also a gift shop. A little map is provided on the back of your ticket and the toilets are also sparkly.
Dress appropriately and shield yourself from sun in open areas. it gets mighty hot in low season. Get there early if you want less people in your photos.
Dazzling White Temple in Chiangrai

Wat Rong Khun, a Buddhist temple in Pa O, Donchai, Meung Chiangrai, Thailand. It’s the most recognised temple and known for its contemporary, unconventional art exhibit, privately owned by a Thai artist and architect, Mr. Chalermchai Kositpipat.
It was started to build in 1990 and opened to public in 1997 and expecting the completion in 2070.
It stands out for white exterior and plastic glass embedded sparkling brightly under the sun. The complex consists of several temples, a golden wishing well, beautiful gardens and art gallery.
Opening everyday from 8:00-18:00 hrs. The entrance fee is only TB50.
