Oh no you’ve only got 3 days in Siem Reap! Here’s how you can maximize your stay anyway 😜
#Angkor Wat is the highlight of the place with everything from hotels to restaurants being centered around its thriving attraction. But don’t miss out on the rest that Siem Reap has to offer! Here is what you can do for a short stay without spending all your time visiting the temples on your next trip!
Day 1:
Morning: visit the local artisans and craftsmen, and get a feel of the traditional Cambodian arts like silk weaving, stone carving, and woodwork
If time permits go to the Phare, Cambodian circus and watch the acrobats’ performance centered around Cambodian culture
Afternoon: visit the Cambodian war museum and learn about the Khmer Rouge’s history
Evening: wander through the night markets and try some tasty street food and Cambodian snacks
Day 2:
Morning + Afternoon: hire a tuktuk privately for tours around the temples. You’ll save time and money since it would all be at your own pace.
Evening: visit the floating markets and get a real feel of the local life by taking a boat ride
Day 3:
Morning: take a pottery class - you’ll need to schedule this in advance but can probably be done with your hotel. It doesn’t take more than a couple hours but it is intense! Especially if you’re like me and this would be your first time
Afternoon: go for a local village cycle tour to explore the countryside of Siem Reap
Evening: go to Phnom Prom and enjoy the sunset if you feel like being away from the main tourist spots for a while
Day 4: Return
📣📣
*We stayed at Model Temple Resort & Spa - perfect for a couple and pretty close to the central market
*Carry cash - most if not all vendors have a Visa card machine but if you’re taking tuktuks frequently you’re going to need cash (unless you’re using apps like bolt)#100waysoftravel
Africa has left me with unforgettable moments that will last a lifetime
You must go to Africa to see the animals if you have the chance! The 7 days of safari in Kenya were like a dream, and I have selected 10 shining moments to share my joy with you.
🟡1 Wildebeest crossing the river
Who would have thought that we would catch the long-delayed wildebeest crossing the river in mid-September? Thousands of wildebeest that had just successfully crossed the river surrounded us, more shocking than the scenes in documentaries.
🟡2 Unparalleled breakfast view
We saw the wildebeest crossing the river twice in two days, the second time on a larger scale, and it was right in front of us eating breakfast at the hotel. Words can't describe such luck and my excitement at the time, I have shared the specific experience in the notes a few days ago.
🟡3 Cheetah hunting
In the case of limited time, waiting 6 hours for a hunt is actually very luxurious. But I am very glad we made this choice, it was very worth it.
🟡4 Elephants crossing the road
In Amboseli, I took the photo of my dreams - a group of elephants crossing the road in a line against the backdrop of Kilimanjaro, more dreamy than a postcard.
🟡5 Lion roaring
On our last game drive in Amboseli, we came across a male lion roaring as we left the park. We could even clearly see its belly writhing as it roared, the guide said this is a very rare scene.
🟡6 Elephant suddenly appearing two meters away
Not long after our car left the hotel in Amboseli, we suddenly encountered two elephants eating grass by the road, only about two meters away from me in a straight line, I felt I could touch its raised nose if I reached out (of course I couldn't).
🟡7 Picnic in Tanzania
The Masai Mara in Kenya and the Serengeti in Tanzania are the same grassland, our guide drove directly over the monument at the Kenya-Tanzania border in the heart of the grassland, let us picnic under a beautiful tree in Tanzania, giving us a rare sense of ceremony during the hard hunting.
🟡8 Elephants and sunset
One evening in Amboseli, we saw a group of elephants enjoying dinner in the rose-colored sunset. Everything around was silent, the scene was incredibly peaceful and beautiful.
🟡9 Eye contact with a giraffe
A giraffe curiously stopped as it passed our car, its innocent, moist eyes met mine, its lips were red, it was extremely cute.
🟡10 Morning moon and sunrise
We got up at 5:30 in the morning to start the day's game, and what greeted us was the bright waning moon on the Masai Mara grassland. We drove towards the sunrise, watching the horizon gradually dyed red by the morning glow, I couldn't help but hear the bgm of 'The Lion King' in my head.

A supreme experience in Masai Mara | Watching antelopes crossing the river while having breakfast
I dare say this is a unique experience on the whole network.
Here's the thing. Masai Mara, due to the severe drought this year, has no fresh grass, so the classic scene of antelopes crossing the river in August has not appeared, and the antelope army has not been able to migrate from Tanzania, so all the tourists who came in the peak season have not seen the great migration.
In early September, Mara finally had a few light rains, and new grass slowly grew a bit. The day we arrived, it was raining heavily, and the guide said everyone was waiting for this rain, and perhaps our Mara trip could have a surprise.
The camp we stayed in Masai Mara is very niche, with only 15 tents, occupying a prime location by the Mara River. Early the next morning at five o'clock, we were going to watch the sunrise, but the driver received news of antelopes crossing the river in front of the hotel, so we rushed back.
Then, wow, the scene from the documentary appeared, with thousands of antelopes crossing the river in groups from the river bay in front of the hotel, and many more were gathering on the opposite bank, with the buzzing and mooing sounds all around.
What's more exaggerated is that it's right in front of our tent, it's a 360-degree unobstructed view of the river crossing. And because this location is the hotel's private territory, cars from outside can't come in and don't know the location, so only the hotel guests' 3 cars watched this spectacular scene for an hour.
I thought we were lucky enough, but the next morning when we were having breakfast at the hotel, more antelopes appeared, on a larger scale than the day before. All the hotel guests went out for the game, and only the three of us were incredibly excited to have such a view.
The funniest thing is, when we were fully immersed in this miracle, we suddenly turned our heads and found that all the hotel staff were standing behind watching, even the chef came out with his phone to take pictures😂 According to our waiter, he has been working here for five years, and this is the largest scale. Our driver also said that this is the highest density and duration of river crossing he has seen since 2012, which can be called the best in ten years.
When the river crossing was almost over, a few photographers came over, their faces not looking very good, because they couldn't take good photos from their nearby positions. He looked at my unfinished Benedict Egg and couldn't help but laugh and cry, saying 'This is truly luxurious.'
Indeed, the real luxury is such unpredictable and untraceable moments of serendipity, there's no regret when it's not there, but if you're lucky enough to have it, enjoy this moment to the fullest.

In September, you can still see the move of the century - the crossing of the Mara River!
The annual migration of the Masai Mara River at the junction of Kenya and Tanzania, you know how lucky!
Kenya, which arrived on September 10th, thought that this time there was no animal migration, because the general migration of animals was concentrated in July and August, and a car friend was waiting here on the Masai Mara River. I didnt see it for a week. I didnt expect that we only went to one day and could actually see it.
I was originally planning to drive Kenya by myself, but considering that because I am watching wild animals, I dont know where there are wild animals in the unfamiliar people. It is easy to miss a lot of wonderful things, and finally I chose a chartered car. In terms of the results, this decision is too correct, because the locals will have a walkie-talkie communication. Once the animals are found, they will tell other drivers at any time, everyone will come quickly, so this is why we can see so many animals. , Africa's five hegemons, wildebeest migration, lion hunting, I saw everything I wanted to see.
So, if you come to Kenya, Tanzania, Africa to travel to see animals, it is recommended to charter a car, but if you go to North Africa, it is very suitable for self-driving, the road conditions can still be
Luna..
A must-see wildlife migration The Paradise of the Heavens in the East African prairie
The Tanzanian Prairie is known as the last habitat of large-scale wildlife on the planet, where a natural event takes place every year. Spectacles - Millions of animals travel thousands of kilometers around the world for food and water, and between Tanzania and Kenya.
East African prairie h
East African prairie across Tanzania and Kenya, bounded by the Mara River, almost 90% of which are in the Serengeti country of Tanzania The park, while the rest belongs to the Masai Mara National Park in Kenya.
The migration of animals
The migration of animals is roughly divided into 3 waves. According to the order of the foods that you like to eat, it is generally the zebras who like to eat the green grass tips. The wildebeests that eat oatmeal, and finally the gazelle, because they want to eat the tender seedlings that have just grown out after other animals have finished eating.
In fact, the animal migration is not only two months, it is a collective action that spans a whole year - from June until May, but from July to September is East Africa The climax of the great migration is also known as a wonderful part - a million horns crossing the Mara River.
Mala River is a gateway that animals must pass every year when they migrate.
Generally speaking, the wildebeest will look for the best time to avoid the crocodile and hippo. When a pioneer rushes over, all the wildebeest will start running until it is safe to cross the river. The lower part of the foot, and this spectacular scene is called "the paradise of heaven."
I didn't catch up with the best time to watch the Wildebeest crossing the river, but I was fortunate to have recorded a scene of a group of wild horses crossing the river.
Recommended accommodation
The hotel we stayed in was the tent hotel on the Mara River. It has the best view of the migration of animals, the original architectural style of the interior plus The vast East African prairie outside the window.
I strongly recommend that you live here. If you are fortunate enough to see the "Heavenly Cross", it will be even more perfect!
Arale_Zhang.
Masai Mara Tianhe Zhidu, the animal migration must be seen once in life!
On the East African plateau, southern Kenya and northern Tanzania have a vast prairie, the world's largest wildlife habitat. There are millions of the world's largest zebra and wildebeest groups. Just like locusts, wherever they go, the grass does not stay, so this group will continue to roll-migrate on this prairie and complete a tour every year.
This team will have a Mala River interception route when they pass through the Masai Mara Prairie. They will turn their backs and rush to the other side of the grass.
Masai Mara is the most concentrated habitat of animals and the most colorful wilderness. Wild animals such as lions, leopards, elephants, giraffes and zebras are endless. Here, people and nature, people and animals live in harmony, the unique original culture, the wonderful scenery of the grassland sunrise and sunset, can make the modern people who have lived in the city forget all the pressures and troubles, fully integrated into the wonderful nature. Feel the ease and happiness of a return. The
mara River is home to many Nile crocodiles and hippos and is the lifeblood of wild mammals. Here, the worlds most spectacular wildlife migration, the Mala River Crossing, takes place every year. At that time, you can see thousands of wildebeests marching forward and seeing the spectacular scenes of the Mara River from the wide-mouthed mouth of Hippo, and experiencing the natural selection and survival of the fittest in the animal world.
To say that you like the original ecological tour, you can find the world, and the African desert is definitely not to be missed. Looking for Africa to see wild animals is of course the first choice in Kenya on the East African plateau. Among the more than 50 national parks in Kenya, the Masai Mara is the most famous.
Why? One of the most important reasons is that in the July and August of each year, millions of zebras and wildebeests migrated. The scene of crossing the river is very spectacular. Friends who like animals will definitely see it on TV more than once. The exhilarating scenes are always immersed in the situation and witnessed it quickly.
Tango.
The beauty of Kenya, with simplicity and wildness, the sunset of the Masai Mara, the lonely acacia tree, the hot air balloon to see the morning sun on the grassland, the galaxy at night, the tranquility of the resort, the most beautiful scenery, the trip to Boglia On the road.
caiweihuang.
Maasai, in the Maasai tribe, they lived in low-rise houses built with cow dung and branches, cattle and sheep were kept in the middle, their costumes were gorgeous and bright, they were the ancient and mysterious people on the grassland, they shared with the beasts Living on the grasslands, they are very close to modern civilization, only hope that their lives are getting better and better.
caiweihuang.
Masai Mara National Park is one of Kenya's most attractive attractions. As you follow the locals to visit here, there is no chance of intimate contact with animals. However, when thousands of zebras and wildebeests rush along the vast grasslands, the scene is spectacular.
Groups of wildebeests, galloping in the grasslands. Elephants with huge bodies, walking through the woods, watching these magical animals in jeep are incredibly memorable.
Adam Yue.
On the horizon of the innocent grassland, the beasts are galloping on the grassland; when the rhythm of cheerful percussion, the first time it rings in the ear. The emotions in my heart are difficult to calm down for a long time. The childhood "African Dream" became a reality at this moment. The fierce friction between passion and dreams has created this miraculous country. Kenya, what a magical black land!
Into the wild Masai Mara grassland, watching the natural world of natural selection here, and watching the scene of the beast hunting at close range, it is difficult to calm down for a long time.
Adam Yue.
The Masai Mara National Park is considered to be the world's most famous wildlife sanctuary. This animal paradise consists of 1672 flat-opened plains, woodlands and riverside forests. It is the world's largest wild mammal home with 95 species. Mammals and 450 species of birds. From July to September each year, the world's most spectacular animal migration takes place near the Mara River. Even in the dry season of January and February, it is also the best protected area for hunting activities.
Because the area of the protected area is too large, in order to see more animals, it is highly recommended to stay here for 2-3 days, stay away from the world, and devote yourself to the world of animals. Enjoy the unique flavor of wild Africa.

Want to say that love is the most powerful country? Many people think of the Chinese people first. When they arrive in Kenya, you will find that Kenyans love to watch the fun more than the Chinese. At about 5:30 in the afternoon, after watching the lion group ready to return, more than 20 cars that didn't take a few steps were slowly stopped. We thought we found something animal or something wonderful. The picture, immediately after getting up and looking around, did not find anything. After asking the driver, I learned that the car in front was stuck in the mud pit. We looked in the direction of him. The car was Increased horsepower struggling to rush out of the mud pit. After seven or eight minutes of stalemate with the mud pit, the car finally won the victory and rushed out of the mud pit. At this time, the crowds watching the crowds applauded and even I heard a few cheers. Do you think this is over? The good play is still behind, and listen to me slowly. At the beginning, did everyone think that the car was trapped like me, blocking the way all cars went back? When, after the start of our car, I found that the driver did not drive in the direction of the car, and asked the driver: "Are we waiting here for so long is it not to go that way?" The driver said A sentence that made us miss our mistakes: "We just watched the excitement and didn't need to go that way!"

In the Masai Mara, you are only strong enough, enough, enough to make you the king of the grassland. The Maasai is a fighting nation. To be a real man, you must successfully kill a lion alone. In adulthood, whenever an adult ceremony comes, they will take a sabre, a spear, and a horse racing stick, and go alone to the grassland to find a lion. If you come back with a lion, it means that he has succeeded. If he has not returned, it means he has hung up. Over time, the lions on the nearby grasslands have produced a special evolution, and when they smell the taste of the Maasai, they flee. However, in recent years, in order to protect the lion, the Kenyan government issued a ban on the Maasai to hunter the lion.

Every year from May to October, millions of wildebeests, hundreds of thousands of zebras and antelopes form a massive team, from the Serengeti Conservation Area in Tanzania to the north, ending in the Masai Mara National Park in Kenya. More than 3,000 kilometers. At the same time, on the way, not only the lions and leopards ambush the grasslands, but also the hyenas that may be present at any time and the crocodiles gathered on the narrow Mara River. These carnivores are ready to share the upcoming feast. After reaching the end point, due to changes in the climate, just two or three months later, the expeditionary army of more than 2 million herbivorous wild animals will once again pursue the return of grass to Serengeti. Of the millions of migratory teams, only 30% of the lucky ones are able to return to their place of departure, and with them back there are 400,000 new life born on a thrilling journey. And we came to Marseilles safari in this background, but it is still early, and the images of these battles are not seen.

We will not meet again when we are so young, come to the Masai Mara National Park and have fun. The Masai Mara National Park is considered to be the crown in the garden among the many wildlife sanctuaries in Kenya. There are weeds everywhere, and there is no end to it. The Mara River and its tributaries are in the meantime. During the dry season, these rivers are trickling, crystal clear, and green through the land; this is a special national park, because the park spans Kenya and its neighboring countries, Tanzania, with a total area of 4,000 square meters. Kilometers. Among them, there are 1,500 square kilometers in Kenya and 2,500 square kilometers in Tanzania.

In a certain animal world, there is such a picture:
On the Masai Mara prairie, several lions are enjoying their prey with relish. At this time, a few Maasai people came over the grassland, holding a machete and a spear in his hand. The Maasai were not close, and the lion that smelled it was already scared to escape. At this time, Zhao Zhongxiang's familiar voice sounded:
Thousands of years of survival experience told the king of these grasslands,
Who is the real master of this land!
hunting lions, that is what every Marseille man must do before he reaches adulthood.
Every Maasai boy will be told by his father when he is an adult:
child, you grow up! Its time to go head-to-head with the lion!
For Marseille boys, to become a real man, you must kill a lion alone. Whenever the adult ceremony comes, they will take the sabre, the spear and the horse racing stick, and go alone to the grassland to find the lion.
