Liuba is a hidden gem deep in the Qinling Mountains. Its autumn is like a colorful and breathtaking painting. November is the best time to enjoy the autumn scenery. The best way to experience autumn is to drive from Beijing to Hanzhong and then drive to Liuba.

The best route in Liuba is a loop, and it takes at least two days to see everything. We recommend a leisurely three-day, two-night trip. We did a two-day, one-night trip with photos, which was a bit rushed. We found two beautiful redwood forests along the way. We posted videos on the same account, so if you want to see the autumn scenery, hurry up.
Tickets are required for Zibai Mountain National Forest Park and Zhangliang Temple, but not for other places. The scenery is beautiful everywhere. If it rains the day before, you will be lucky enough to see a sea of clouds. Gaojiang Road winds through the depths of the Qinling Mountains and is known as the most beautiful mountain village road. There are also thousand-year-old ginkgo trees in many places in Liuba. The oldest one is about 4,000 years old and is the last one to turn golden in autumn.
Liuba has put a lot of effort into welcoming the large number of tourists who come to see the autumn scenery. There are many parking spots along the way, which is great. Most of them are free, so visitors can get closer to the beautiful scenery.
We stayed at the Trip.com Farmhouse (Liuba Qinling No. 1 Joint Venture Store) along the most beautiful road. We rented a courtyard with two floors, which was very private. It felt like we had a big house in the countryside.
November is the most beautiful time in Liuba, and it's hard to find a room. There aren't many courtyards that can accommodate so many people. There is a large living room where we ate and chatted with friends. Each courtyard has an aunt who cooks authentic farmhouse dishes, which are as good as those made by restaurant chefs. Before we arrived, the housekeeper aunt had already turned on the air conditioning for us, so it was warm when we entered the house. It was so nice.

A Visit to Zhang Liang Temple
On an autumn day in 2024, I embarked on a journey to visit Zhang Liang Temple. This sacred place, steeped in historical legends and wisdom, sits quietly amidst the mountains and rivers, waiting for future generations to explore.
As I walked along the winding mountain path, I could see the ancient silhouette of Zhang Liang Temple from afar. The red walls and gray tiles, set against the backdrop of green trees, appeared solemn and dignified. Stepping through the temple gate, I felt as if I had traveled through time to an era of great change.
Inside the temple, ancient trees towered overhead, lush and verdant. Sunlight filtered through the leaves, casting patches of light on the ground. As I strolled through the temple, I felt a sense of tranquility and solemnity. The Zhang Liang Hall is the core building of the temple, housing a statue of Zhang Liang. He is depicted wearing a long robe, holding a scroll, with a deep and determined gaze, as if contemplating the affairs of the world. Standing before the statue, I couldn't help but recall Zhang Liang's legendary life. He assisted Liu Bang in establishing an empire, yet he did not covet power, choosing instead to retire after achieving success. His wisdom and magnanimity are truly admirable.
Continuing my tour, I arrived at the Shushu Tower. Legend has it that Huang Shigong bestowed the "Art of War" upon Zhang Liang here. The ancient and heavy stone steps in front of the tower seemed to tell the story of that ancient event. Climbing the Shushu Tower, I gazed at the surrounding mountains and rivers, the scenery was breathtaking. The rolling green hills and winding rivers were a feast for the eyes.
In Zhang Liang Temple, there are many inscriptions and couplets. These words record the admiration and praise of later generations for Zhang Liang. One couplet reads: "The sound of the Bo Lang shook the heavens and the earth, the Yi Bridge ascended to the clouds three times." 🌈The whole two-day trip was very relaxing. On the first day, we arrived in Liuba and went to the old street to stroll and eat; then we went to the B&B to check in. This time we stayed at 📍Xigu Jiudu · Tianye B&B in Huoshaodian Town, the "Most Beautiful Town in the Qinling Mountains". This town has relatively few tourists, and the scenery is beautiful and very quiet.
🍂In the afternoon, we took photos and strolled around the town, enjoying the colorful mountains, the idyllic scenery of streams, rice fields, houses, cattle, and sheep, and the red train 🚂 that circles the town. It only costs 5 yuan to take a ride. After a tiring walk, we went back to the B&B to relax, which was super comfortable.

💤The second day was also very leisurely. We woke up naturally, had breakfast at the B&B, and then went to Zibai Mountain, Lovers' Valley, and Shizigou Ranch. Compared to the first day, there were a lot more tourists in 💕Lovers' Valley and Shizigou Ranch, but the photos were really great.

Lovers Valley in Liuba is located about 25 kilometers north of Liuba County, Hanzhong City, Shaanxi Province. The scenic area is beautiful all year round and attracts many tourists. The valley is full of lush trees, clear water, winding paths, and water in the forest. There are stones in the water, and there are streams on the stones. The wooden walkway built along the mountain is winding. Every turn is a new scene. It is suitable for tourists to come and cool off and take photos.
Lovers Valley is a forest farm with more than 500 acres of tall larch forest, which has a primitive forest feeling. You can open your arms here, run in the forest, and breathe the fragrance of the soil. Walking on a wooden suspension bridge about 50 meters long, stepping on soft fallen leaves, leisurely walking in the primitive forest, enjoying the quiet valley time.
Hanzhong Liuba Old Street
Liuba Old Street: Located in the northern part of Liuba County, Hanzhong City, Shaanxi Province, it is about five to six hundred meters long and seven to eight meters wide at its widest point. On both sides of the street, there are residential houses, specialty snack shops, book bars, and inns, creating a lively atmosphere. The old street is quiet and serene, surrounded by mountains, with a bluestone road that gently undulates with the terrain. On both sides stand old wooden houses from the Ming and Qing dynasties. Along the street, you can see white walls, blue tiles, carved doors, and windows, faintly showing the bustling scenes of the past. Wearing a Hanfu and strolling through the bluestone alleys, with a gentle breeze around your shoulders and a smile on your face, the distant mountains and the historical buildings nearby, red lanterns, blue bricks, and heavy wooden doors seem to pull your thoughts far away.
Self-driving route: It takes about 2 hours to drive from Hanzhong city to Liuba County. It is recommended to take the Baohe 244 National Road all the way to Liuba County. Different weather conditions will offer different beautiful sceneries.
