All Moments About Limburg an der Lahn
Limburg Germany 🇩🇪
#myhiddengems
Limburg, Germany, is like stepping back in time! 🏰 This charming medieval town, located on the Lahn River, has some of the most beautiful half-timbered houses I’ve ever seen. The streets are narrow and winding, filled with colorful buildings that date back to the 13th century. One of the highlights was the Limburg Cathedral (Limburger Dom), with its distinctive Romanesque architecture and vibrant colors. Entry is free, which is a bonus! Inside, the vaulted ceilings and historic artwork are breathtaking. ⛪
I spent hours just wandering around the old town, stumbling upon cozy cafes, boutique shops, and hidden courtyards. The historic Römer 2-4-6 house is a must-see; it’s one of the oldest half-timbered houses in Germany and offers a glimpse into medieval life. 🏠 For a relaxing moment, I sat by the Lahn River, watching boats drift by and enjoying the peaceful atmosphere. The Alte Lahnbrücke (Old Lahn Bridge) provided some of the best views of the town and cathedral. 🌉
If you have time, there’s a lovely walking trail along the river, perfect for nature lovers. Nearby, you can visit the enchanting Braunfels Castle, just a short drive away. Limburg is an ideal spot for history buffs and anyone who appreciates old-world charm! #trip #LimburgGermany #MedievalTown #HistoricCharm #LimburgCathedral #OldTownWonders

[Limburg, Germany🇩🇪] A city near Frankfurt full of traditional German wooden buildings

[GermanyTravel: Frankfurt surrounding city Limburg (Limburg an der Lahn)]
A city where you can see half-timbered buildings in traditional German architectural style
🇩🇪
You can see that the traditional style buildings are well preserved.
It felt like you were in a fairy tale.
The buildings throughout the city have the same style,
so if you search for images of small German cities on the Internet, you can easily find the city that is the main character in the pictures :)
There were no Koreans except us.
However, many tourists were enjoying this place.
The sky was so blue and full of clouds during the trip.
Everywhere in the city, my eyes were drawn!
A city you must visit if you come to Germany!
You can see traditional colors that you can't see anywhere else in Germany!
There were many buildings that were not erected vertically.
They were tilted here and there,
but they were still sturdy and well-maintained,
and it was amazing to see them.
The name of the city is Limburg an der Lahn
It means Limburg on the Lahn River!
A special city that you must visit at least once if you travel to Germany!
I really recommend it!
A brief description of the city:
- A city in Lower Saxony, Germany, with the Lahn River running through it
- Located in the Limburg lowlands between the Taunus Mountains and the Westerwald Mountains
- Representative building: St. George's Cathedral, built in the 13th century
(The famous boys' choir, Limburger Domzingnaven, is affiliated with this cathedral. The Romanesque cathedral has beautiful frescoes on the inside.)
- The old town is full of half-timbered buildings built from the 13th to the 19th centuries.

A visit to Limburg Frankfurt
Randomly select one of the towns not too far away from Frankfurt central to visit for the day. Turn out to be a hidden gem. It is not too touristy but crowded with locals. Love the medieval vibe and old buildings.

The German town of Limburg an der Lahn
Limburg an der Lahn is a district town in the Limburg-Weilburg district of Central Hesse. With about 35,000 inhabitants, it is the most populous town in the district. When the town was building the Limburger Landhal Bridge, a small village dating back to the Neolithic Age was discovered. Analysis of jar fragments showed that it could be traced back to around 5000 BC.
Two Roman military camps from the time of Emperor Augustus were also discovered on a total of 14 hectares of land.
In May 1289, a devastating city fire destroyed much of Limburg's city center, but it was immediately rebuilt. One of the houses built was Römer 2-4-6, which today is probably the oldest independent building in Limburg.
However, the more historic St. George's Cathedral (cover) was not destroyed by the fire because it is located on limestone. It has seven towers, more than any other German church. #Germany #GermanyTravel #River #OverseasTravel #EuropeTravel #ExploreEuropeanSmallTown #deutschland #limburganderLahn #hesse
