2025 Leekfrith Travel Guide: Must-see attractions, popular food, hotels, transportation routes (updated in May)

The Peak District is the perfect getaway to the countryside. Centrally located and easily accessible from Liverpool, Manchester, Sheffield & Leeds ect. The first hike I recommend is Luds church, The Roaches and Hen Cloud circular. This hike includes everything from unique rock formations, stunning views and lots of ups/downs along the way. 18km round trip, arrive early for free parking in the Roaches Gradbach car park. The second is an easier mostly flat walk around the Derwent reservoir. Over 16km the trail takes in beautiful views all the way around. Paid parking and a small cafe at the start of the trail. Here you can also hire a bike. Both trails/ locations can be found on AllTrails app.

A great trek with great views

#LondonAttractions Lud's Church was used as a secret meeting place for religious heretics. It is said that the legendary John Luther once hid here to avoid being hunted down, so the cave is also called the "Luther Church". Entering the cave, the cold, damp air and dim environment immediately give people a feeling of mystery and solemnity. The grottoes are composed of towering cliffs, and the interior presents a natural church-like structure, as if it is a sacred temple built by nature itself. Walking along the path of the cave, the light-colored rocks on both sides are covered with vines, creating a poetic natural atmosphere. The occasional sunlight leaking in from above adds a touch of mystery to this quiet environment.
