Pulau Tiga Island
▪️The word Pulau Tiga means three islands in the local language.
In the local language, Pulau means island and Tiga means three.
▪️It consists of Tiga Island, Kalampunian Besar Island, and Kalampunian Damit Island (Pula Ruller).
▪️They say that the TV program Survival was filmed on this island. That's why it's also called Survival Island.

Kuala Penyu Beach Escapes: Sabah’s Untouched Coastal Magic 🌊🐚
#kotakinabalutrip
If you’re craving **empty shores, golden sunsets, and the kind of peace only found off the tourist radar**, then **Kuala Penyu’s beaches** need to be on your list. This quiet district in Sabah is where the jungle meets the sea—no crowds, no resorts, just raw, beautiful coastline. Here’s why it’s worth the detour!
### **First Impressions: "Wait… Is This All Mine?!"**
- **The beaches:** Long stretches of **soft, untouched sand**—no sunbed wars here!
- **The water:** Shallow, warm, and **jellyfish-free** (swim without the panic)
- **The soundtrack:** Just waves, swaying palms, and maybe a distant fishing boat
### **The "Whoa" Moment: Sunset at Kuala Penyu Jetty**
Head to the **old wooden jetty** at golden hour for:
🔥 **Sky-on-fire reflections** in the tidal flats
🎣 **Local fishermen** hauling in the day’s catch (photography gold)
🚤 **Bobbing boats** that look straight out of a postcard
### **Hidden Gem: Pantai Bahagia**
A short drive from town, this **secluded cove** has:
- **Natural rock pools** at low tide (perfect for kiddie snorkeling)
- **Floating fish farms** you can visit (ask nicely for a tour!)
- **Zero vendors**—just you and the ocean
### **Unexpected Encounter: The Sand Dollar Hunt**
At low tide, the exposed sandbars are **littered with perfect sand dollars**. We found **dozens** intact—like the ocean left us souvenirs.
### **Must-Eat: Kuala Penyu’s Famous Seafood**
Don’t leave without trying:
🦀 **Chili crab** at **Restoran Sri Penyu** (messy hands = happy heart)
🍤 **Butter prawns** so rich, they’ll ruin all other prawns for you
🍹 **Fresh coconut** hacked open with a *parang* (peak Borneo experience)
### **Chill-Only Itinerary**
🕘 **9AM** – Coffee at a kopitiam in town
🕙 **10AM** – Beachcombing at Pantai Bahagia
🕛 **12PM** – Seafood lunch by the water
🕒 **3PM** – Jetty hopping & fish farm visits
🕠 **5:30PM** – Sunset at Kuala Penyu Jetty
🕖 **7PM** – Grilled fish dinner under the stars
### **Local Tips:**
- **Rent a car** (public transport is scarce)
- **Time visits with low tide** for best exploring
- **Pack snacks/water**—this is blissfully undeveloped territory
**Verdict:** 11/10 for anyone who thinks "beach day" should include **more nature, less noise**.
