Walk or swim in the cooling waters of Snowy River when the weather is hot, or picnic among the wildflowers of alpine mint, billy buttons, and native yam daisies, just to name a few. If you are visiting Aussie in the winter period, I highly recommend trying out visiting the Australian alps. Absolutely stunning views with lots of winter sports to take part in. If you are adventurous and sporty definitely check out their ski resorts like Thredbo and Periher as well as try out some snow camping or backcountry skiing. Alternatively a chill-er activity includes snowshoeing which takes you to the Australia’s highest point within 3 hours. Absolutely worth it!

#australiatrip Wonderful little campground, especially if you’re on horseback. Looks like a 4wd track from the road, but it’s easily accessible by 2wd in good weather. Plenty of open spaces to camp away from other visitors, two clean and well-maintained toilets, and an excellent location near the Yarrangobilly Caves area of the NP. We had absolutely beautiful views of the sky at night, and only drove a few minutes out and saw wild brumbies.

After visiting the Perisher Valley on the first day, I found this place near to the Perisher Valley, but a lot less crowded. Although the skitube doesn’t have a station here, you could take the free shuttle bus from Perisher Valley to get here within 5 minutes. Chair lifts and drag lifts are also provided here, and can be accessed as long as you have a valid Perisher lift pass. The centre provides locker services and food courts for you to have some delicious hot food such as chips and butter chicken on this snowy and cold mountain. If you are new to skiing or snowboarding, you may also pay for a 2-hour group or private lesson to start with. I personally think this place is very similar to Perisher Valley itself, with great slopes, snow, view and a large car park, but a lot less crowded than the Perisher Valley (which takes time to get onto the lifts).
