Hidden Gem at Matos Malang
This new space at Matos (Malang Town Square) Malang has a huge fake grass field, and western styled house fronts. They even decorated the place with christmas things. It's a cool place to take photos and for kids to just run around on the field. You can also see good Malang views from there, because it was at the rooftop level.

Actually, there's no need to specially visit this Rainbow Village in Malang
Malang is a big city in East Java, and near the Tugu Monument in the city center, there's such a colorful village.
Because many bloggers have checked in here, it has become an internet-famous spot, and the villagers have started charging an entrance fee early on.
🌈Kampung Tridi Malang Rainbow Village
🈺08:00-17:00 (visit during daylight)
🎫IDR 5000k (about 2.5r)
📍Jl. Temenggungan Ledok, Malang, Indonesia
The village is divided into two sides by a river, connected by an iron bridge, and each side charges a separate entrance fee.
The village is just an ordinary village, even a bit poor, hence also called the Rainbow Slum.
After buying the ticket, the villagers will give a small handmade souvenir. The advantage of visiting in the evening is that there are fewer people, but the disadvantage is poor lighting.
We stayed at the Malang Monument Hotel, a 10-minute walk away. There are a few small shops on both sides of the road, relatively backward but still quite clean.
📝In this underdeveloped country of Indonesia, there are actually many colorful houses. I have also seen a Rainbow Village in Semarang citywalk. The longing for beauty knows no rich or poor.

Nestled right next to Amstelstation, Hotel Tugu Malang at Jl. Tugu No. 3 offers the ultimate convenience for travelers with a thirst for exploration 🚆✨. Dive into the local culture with ease, thanks to prime access to buses, trams, and the metro!
Safety first! The hotel nails it with social distancing measures, ensuring your four-person room is limited to three for that extra peace of mind 😷🛌. Cleanliness is king here, with daily housekeeping, fresh towels, and crisp bed sheets as standard – no skimping on the essentials!
Foodies rejoice! The guest kitchen is spotless and stocked with all the cookware you need to whip up a storm 🍳🍽️. While I didn't try it out, laundry and bike rental services are on the menu, too.
Accessibility is no afterthought; the staff swiftly accommodated my family on the ground floor to aid my dad's mobility 🚶♂️💖. From the warm welcome to the close attention to detail, especially during my post-wedding stay, the team at Hotel Tugu Malang goes above and beyond.
Though the hotel whispers tales of a bygone era with its slightly aged facilities, the charm is undeniable and the service, impeccable 🏨💫.

Colonial Style Kopi-O Malang!
This is My Kopi-O at Tenes Street Malang. This Kopi-O branch had been here quite a while, maybe around 6 years. Their building was a unique colonial style, with a real dutch house built around the time of the Netherlands occupation in Indonesia.
They had many varieties of food and drinks, from western food to Asian and Indonesian. As well as coffee, tea, smoothies, and so many more. All the food and drinks were nice, too!
If you happen to be in Malang, this place is worth a try!
Cute old Dutch colonial village in the heart of Malang
In the heart of Malang lies Kajoetangan Heritage village, which is the remains of a colonial Dutch village. In the middle of the village runs a river, which is diverted throughout the village.
This place is perfect for taking a stroll and looking a the old architecture and little alleyways. There are many places to get cheap food and drinks along the paths, and the atmosphere is cozy and local.
The entrance fee is 10.000 IDR, which is inclusive a postcard.

MALANG BLUE VILLAGE
A lovely city to visit. De former slums have been transformed into art projects which really are beautiful. The city is great to spend a couple of days just strolling through the streets. I felt safe although I have to say that I haven’t travelled alone, which made a big difference in my opinion. There is always something to do here, night and day. And the people are very friendly.
The graffiti of several art students saved this ancient village
Originally, the village was to be demolished, but the graffiti of several art students saved this ancient village. It is unclear whether the story of China's Wucun Village spread to Southeast Asia, or if it was the other way around, but Kampung Pelangi in Malang has become a stop on Indonesia's volcanic tour.
Trip Wish 2024

hotel tugu malang
#hotelreview
love this hotel. Having a 5 star hotel background, service mechanics mean a lot to me. The entire staff is cheerful, attentive, interactive, proactive, and professional.
At other hotels I stayed on this trip I experienced disappointments and frustrations as my requests were met with indifference or being directed elsewhere. However at this property every request becomes a mission. The staff works hard to create a positive guest experience and they are good at it.
Food quality is excellent. The breakfast buffet goes on forever and has everything you can imagine and more.
Nice gym with quality machines and free weights. The gym has a second floor with lots more equipment.
Enjoying a cocktail by the side of their huge pool is as good as life gets and a great way to wrap up a vacation.
