SADOK KOK THOM HISTORICAL PARK
#familytrips2024 Avery well maintained historic park. There is plenty of parking and nice clean restrooms. There was no entry fee on the day I went. The main structure was a marvel to look at even if parts were restored. This is not a very big site so it’s easy to see everything in less than a hour. Beautiful location close to the Cambodian border. I was surprised how quiet it was given how amazing the structure is. It was free to enter. I'd thoroughly recommend visiting.
Free Entry Historical Area
#songkran2024 Khmer-style ruins near the Cambodian border in Kok Soon District, northeast of Sa Kaeo Province. After being discovered by a French explorer in 1901, it was left to disrepair for a long time, but restoration work was completed with the cooperation of Japan, and it is now well-maintained as a historical park. The huge stone temple, built under the reign of the 11th-century Cambodian king Udayaditavarman II, is reminiscent of Angkor Wat, albeit only partially, and is worth seeing. Incidentally, there is a museum outside the facility, where panels are displayed explaining the excavation process and the excavated items.
