Khao Luang
Khao Luang Sukhothai 2 days 1 night
Extremely tired, let's just go once, lol
It started when we talked to my sister about wanting to go hiking somewhere, until we concluded that we would go to Khao Luang Sukhothai. Now, there are 4 members: me, my boyfriend, Phi Fren, and Phi Fern. We posted to find more friends to travel with in the group, Finding friends to travel with, no tour needed. After that, more and more members started to show interest. In total, there were about 6 people: Nong Bej, Nong Pan, Nong Sun, Phi Keng, Phi Kwan, Phi Tan. In total, there were 10 members.
But in the end, when the day of booking tickets came, there were only 6 people left: me, Phi Fren, Phi Keng, Phi Kwan, Nong Pan, and Phi Tan. Everyone else had other things to do (I felt sorry for those who didn't go with me).
We booked tickets online and departed from Mo Chit. That day, we met in front of 7-Eleven on the BMTA bus inbound side at 7:30 PM. Everyone was very punctual. When we first met, we talked like we were already close friends.
At 8:47 PM, the bus started to leave Mo Chit. Heading to Sukhothai Province, but our destination is Khirimat District.
We arrived at Khirimat District at around 3:30 AM. Less than 10 minutes later, Sergeant Ae came to pick us up. During that time, we had another member, Sergeant Nut. Sergeant Ae provided excellent service, taking us to 7-Eleven and to Khirimat Fresh Market to buy things. Everyone thought that Khirimat Market would sell grilled pork with rice after reading reviews from many websites. But it was wrong, lol. There was almost nothing in the market except for about 2 pork butcher shops, lol. For those who want fresh food or buy grilled pork with sticky rice, I recommend getting off at Sukhothai Bus Terminal to get everything you need.
We left the fresh market and headed to Ramkhamhaeng National Park. It took about half an hour to get there. When we arrived, we waited for the officers to come to reserve the tents and porters at around 7:30 AM. After we finished reserving, we went to wait to eat. There was only one restaurant. They said it opened at 8 AM. At first, we waited, but the vendor didn't come. So, at the end, we each had a cup of instant noodles to eat to survive.
We started our journey at around 8:20 am. It was expected to take about 5-6 hours from what I read in the reviews, but Phi Friend said to give us 2 hours. We looked at the path and it seemed like we wouldn't make it, lol. The path was very slippery and it was raining. We told those who were in a hurry to go first, we weren't in a hurry, lol.
On the way, there were 4 of us left: me, Nong Pan, Phi Keng, and Phi Tan. We walked slowly and stopped at various places to take pictures. The path was very rough, slippery, and wet. There was fog everywhere, so we could barely see the view along the side of the road. Compared to Phu Kradueng, it was a piece of cake, lol.
You can see from the picture that we were in a terrible state because we slipped and fell, lol. I have to thank Phi Luk Phak and Nong Pan so much. If it weren't for the porters walking behind us and helping us, we might have fallen off the mountain, lol. Every time I see my own picture, I laugh. I feel proud. It's an experience. Some people who see our condition both laugh and smile.
As we said, we expected to walk for 5-6 hours, but in the end, we only spent 3 and a half hours. It was awesome. But someone was even more awesome, Phi Kwan, who took only 2 hours. Phi Fren and Phi Nut took 2 and a half hours.
When we arrived, we went to get the things we rented at the park and went to eat. Everyone said that this was the most delicious omelet in the world (how delicious it is, everyone has to try it for themselves, lol). There was only one restaurant owned by an officer. When we got here, we had to eat.
After we finished eating, we went our separate ways to rest and made an appointment to go see the sunset at Khao Mae Ya at 3 pm. When the appointed time came, we started our journey. There was fog up there. The sky was completely closed today, but we had a little hope that we would see the sunset.
But we were wrong. When we reached Pha Chom Prong, it started raining. So we decided to walk back to our accommodation. When we arrived at our accommodation, we started cooking. Today, we would like to present the menu, Suki by Chef Phi Kwan. It was delicious and filling. After eating, we went our separate ways to take a shower and decided to go our separate ways to rest because the fog was very strong.
As for us, we went to find an internet signal, which was very difficult to find for mobile phones. Each network is in a different zone. We use AIS, so we have to lean our phones and ears against the wooden poles at the park shop. LOL
Around 6pm, almost 7pm, the sky suddenly cleared up. We were so happy because we wanted to sit and watch the stars at night. But in the end, we were disappointed because the sky was clear until 8pm. The fog started to come down again. So we went to sleep separately and talked about going to Khao Narai at 5am tomorrow morning if it doesn't rain.
We woke up at 5am. The fog was so thick that we could barely see the path, so we decided to go back to sleep because we thought that if we walked, there wouldn't be anything to see.
We woke up again at 6am and went out to prepare ingredients to make fried eggs with Phi Keng, the most delicious fried eggs in the world (this one is really delicious). We sat and prepared ingredients for a while until 6:30pm. The sky cleared up because the sun was rising. We were so happy. We talked about eating quickly so we could hurry up and walk up to take pictures of the view because we agreed that we would start walking down the mountain at 8:30am because we would miss the 2pm round to go back to Bangkok.
But in the end, the sky closed up. The fog started to come and I gave up. LOL. This trip, we only encountered fog. At 8 am, the porters came to ask us to weigh our stuff and to hurry down because they were afraid that we would miss the 2 pm bus.
At 8:20 am, we started walking down the mountain. On the way up, my knees hurt because the path was steep. On the way down, it took longer than walking up because I was afraid of falling like when I came up. When I saw the way down, I talked to myself, “How did I get up here? It’s so difficult. The tips of my toes hurt so much because I had to dig my fingers into the ground the whole time.”
But no matter how careful I was, I still slipped in the end. LOL. But it wasn’t just me who slipped. This time, my friends also slipped, including Phi Keng, Phi Tan, and Phi Nut. Everyone had wounds.
On the way, we started to feel uneasy. They walked further and further away from us, but Nong Pan was still waiting for us. I have to thank Nong so much for waiting for us on both the way up and down. On the way, we met Phi Song-nga, a hiker who has organized a trip for tourists to hike Phra Ta Chong Dong Mountain in Ranong Province for over 10 years. Phi Song-nga shared his life experiences with us. #Khao Luang Sukhothai #dreamdestinati
