A spectacular and traditional light show theme park!
We mainly came for the night illumination. This isn't Disneyland, but we had a lot of fun on the rides. We went on a weekday, so there were no lines at all! The rides here are more basic compared to other famous parks in Japan. The surrounding food stalls and restaurants offer delicious options, and the vending machines are well-stocked with drinks.
But by 6 PM, it suddenly got crowded! I guess it's because of the night illumination. The park turned into a massive light show. Almost every inch of the park was adorned with colorful lights! It was so beautiful! We really enjoyed our time here! It's definitely worth spending time during the night illumination. My best guess is about 10 million light bulbs.
Getting there is quite easy; you can take the Keio Line from Shinjuku to Keio Yomiuriland Station, and even the train station has a light show! Don't miss the cable car ride, which costs around 500 yen round trip, and offers a bird's-eye view of the night illumination from above.
Bought Daruma for Wish 🙏
If you want to buy some souvenirs or traditional Japanese sweets/snacks, then this is an excellent place to visit. They often offer free samples for some of the products sold here, and the prices are completely reasonable. If you are on your way from the Daishi temple, then I believe you will likely be passing through here, so I would suggest to not try avoiding this place. The shop staff is friendly and doesn't excessively bother any tourists from what I have seen, and you may get to experience some new food you have not had a chance to taste before. Other than that, there are quite literally thousands of Daruma here, in all shapes and sizes imaginable.
Keikyu Line ( Kawasakidaishi Station ) 10 minutes walk
Unique Onsen in Neighbourhood area
#tokyotrip
Get to know this hidden gem through my local friend and was sure it a local place as I see that I’m the only foreigner around. Soap and shampoo are assumed to be brought in by regular customers, so they are not provided.Entrance feeis 490 yen for adults, which is cheap.
The sauna is also charged separately because "Isn't it necessary to charge everyone who doesn't enter?" There is a charge of 20 yen for using the hair dryer. A very reasonable price setting that only those who need it should pay.
The hot water is not boiled water, but a real hot spring pumped from several hundred meters underground. It is not a volcanic one unique to the Kanto Plain, but is derived from ancient seawater heated by geothermal heat.
Although the hot spring itself is small but given the price and experience I don’t think I shall be complaining 😂
Jewellumination at Yomiuri Land in Tokyo 💫
Don't miss one of Tokyo's largest amusement parks!
Everywhere in this amusement park has been lit up by four million LED lights. There are 5 sections with different colors and themes: "Amusement Park", "Aqua", "Lovely Stream", "Cute", and "Forest" areas. There is also a dance show in the evening, which is synchronized to the light and music.
You can purchase an unlimited rides ticket! Enjoy the rides all day and enjoy the illumination at night ✨ It is extra cold here in winter🥶❄️
This place is only 35 minutes from Shinjuku Station.

Kawasaki Daishi (川崎大師) is a prominent temple in Kawasaki City. It was founded in 1128 toward the end of the Heian Period and is the headquarters of the Chizan School of Shingon Buddhism. A lively temple approach connects the gates of the temple to Kawasaki Daishi Station and is lined with restaurants and shops selling all kinds of souvenirs and colorful daruma dolls. The temple attracts about 3 millions visitors only for New Year’s holidays (January 1–3).
Kawasaki Daishi Temple is also popular among the people with Yakudoshi (厄年), which are superstitious unlucky ages in Japan.
How to get there:
Kawasaki Daishi is located along the Keikyu Daishi Line, a short line that branches off the Keikyu Main Line at Keikyu Kawasaki Station (next to JR Kawasaki Station). The train ride between Keikyu Kawasaki and Kawasaki Daishi stations takes five minutes and cost 140 yen. There are frequent departures. From Kawasaki Daishi Station it is a further five minute walk to the temple.
this hotel was okay, a little overpriced and staffs very lazy...
they not very used to foreign customers, The room and the booking information was totally different I enquired about the room also the television is so small and far away from the bed which was kind of strange and pointless having a TV.
kind of misleading when booking at this hotel.

Yomiuriland Illumination
The Yomiuriland Illumination was a fantastical experience where a dreamlike brilliance spread throughout the park.
Millions of LED lights installed across the vast grounds were decorated with various themes, creating a sensation of being drawn into a world of light.
Popular with couples and families alike, we were able to enjoy a relaxing time in a world shining under the night sky.
I want to go again this year 😊
Doraemon's World
Half-Day Tour in Tokyo Starting from Noborito Station, Enter the World of Doraemon
Remember to book online in advance, walk-ins are not accepted
The three-story museum suggests storing your belongings in the free lockers on the ground floor, then taking the elevator to the top floor restaurant to get your tickets and start your tour
Go back to the first floor to learn about the author, Fujiko F. Fujio's creative journey
Head upstairs to watch the exclusive movie and then take a walk on the rooftop for photos, but don't forget to listen for your number being called at the restaurant
The quality of the Doraemon-themed food is quite good, perfect for social media
The highlight of the museum is that kids can play games with Gian, don't miss it!
Lots of FUN! One of the best themed parks I have been to!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
We purchased one-day pass on the day via online. We tried all the rides they offered and even rode ‘em all multiple times whenever it’s possible like the Bandit we tried it 2X: one normal and one with splash.
We visited on a Saturday before the end of summer vacation I thought it will be too crowded as it’s summer vacation for mostly but amazingly it’s not. There’s quite a volume of people and yet it doesn’t feel like it’s too crowded. there’s 2 activities that’s have a queues of up to 30 minutes but the waiting time was not boring at all as each hallways / waiting area have it’s unique design enough to get you distracted like the old Photo Booth frame style at the Fashion factory I think it’s really cool.
What’s super great about this place is that they both offer amusement park and a swimming pool inside the premises. They even allowed swim wear in the theme park as long as you put over garment like a huge t-shirt and whatnot.
Yomiuri Land is definitely great for all ages: kids, adult, families, and couples.

The 2023 LIGHT is LOVE Jewelry Illumination
Located in the suburbs of Tokyo, the annual 'Gemstone Illumination Show' at 'Yomiuri Land' is themed 'LIGHT is LOVE' this year. The designer has incorporated gemstone elements, using 6.5 million light bulbs to create a new dreamy area. The new lighting features colors inspired by aquamarine, emerald, golden sapphire, and ruby, symbolizing love, to create the 'Earth Blue Jewel Color,' representing 'love for the Earth.' For the first time, the giant Ferris wheel is adorned in rose gold, with a gradient effect of champagne gold and rose, resembling a ring from afar, echoing the theme. Additionally, don't miss the new photo spot 'Tunnel of Light,' which is about 140 meters long and decorated with luxurious, interwoven multicolored lights, making the entire space sparkle.
slash cafe&barKAWASAKI

Only place near Kawasaki station which serves chicken over rice - which tasted good. (No sriracha sauce provided) Lunch set comes with a drink(coffee, soft-drinks) included. Lunch times closes at 15:00, but the last order is around 14:00. So make sure to reach before time. Restaurant ambience is nice. Recommended!

Okonomiyaki Izuru/Kanagawa Prefecture
A delicious okonomiyaki restaurant where anything you order is tasty.
Even on weekdays, it's a popular spot bustling with customers, and on weekends, reservations are not accepted after 6 pm, so I had to wait in line a bit to get in.
The atmosphere of the restaurant is pleasant, and the impression of the hall staff is good, as they are brisk and efficient despite being alone.
Okonomiyaki, monjayaki, and à la carte dishes, all are delicious, and I've been looking for a place like this!
For two people, even ordering a variety of items including alcohol, the reasonable price of 4,000 yen is fantastic.

Folk house museum
Great experience if you are interested to know more about Japanese culture and historical building styles.
Tamagawamiharashi Park
#japantrip
The view is certainly good. Takeoff and landing at Haneda can be seen in the distance. It can be seen clearly during the Ota Ward fireworks festival in the summer.
There are quite a lot of people, but it's not crowded. There are people exercising, people fishing, families and couples, walking dogs, and more.
The riverbank is like a pier. The handrails are solid and safe, but it's dirty and full of feces, probably because it's winter and there are a lot of black-headed gulls. Perhaps that's why no one was relaxing on the riverbank. Everyone seems to be in a staircase-like area or an open space-like area.
There are no toilets in sight.
The area downstream from the park is lined with homeless homes. There are many large apartments on the upstream side.
Kawasui Kawasaki Aquarium
#japantrip
I was really impressed with the variety of fish - so many beautiful and interesting species I had never seen before! We ended up spending 3.5 hours here..! This aquarium is unique because they focus on freshwater fish, rather than ocean fish. They don't have any very large tanks, as apparently the building itself is old and can't support the weight, but that doesn't take away from the experience.
Went on a Saturday and it was surprisingly empty, and we got to walk around leisurely and spend as much time as we want at each tank. Everything looks new and the media is well-done. They switch certain animals out at around 5pm to showcase nocturnal animals, so I definitely want to go back in the evening.
Japan Open-Air Folk House Museum
#japantrip
Way cooler than I anticipated and it only cost 500* at the gate per adult to enter. A little indoor museum to show how building were made and how communities worked together and then a large open entire historical town to walk through with everything you could expect from houses from rich families and working families, little stores, mills, farms, each with it own story and history. The walk back we took an accidental route though a working indigo dye shop and walked down through the forest, it was stunning. A wonderful activity!
Kawasaki-Daishi Nakamise Shopping Street
#japantrip
A shopping street about 150 meters long that leads to the Sanmon gate of Kawasaki Daishi. There are many shops selling lucky charms such as rice crackers, candy, manju, soba noodles, and daruma dolls to people visiting Kawasaki Daishi. It seems that shops were lined up along this street during the Meiji period.
It's similar to Nakamise Street in Asakusa, but since Kawasaki is a minor tourist destination, there were no foreign tourists, so it didn't feel stuffy.
Cafe Restaurant Natura
#japantrip
I went to the lunch buffet and was very satisfied.
I was worried because I had heard that the staff would serve the food for me, but I was able to order all the menu items I wanted, and the food was served quickly, so it was much smoother than having to share it for each person! I'm sure it's hard for the staff, but l've always thought this format is good.
The food was delicious overall, especially the cold purple potato and pumpkin double-layer salad and Kita Akari's potato butter. I also love that they bring meat dishes to the table. The type and size of the dishes were just right, and the aftertaste after the meal was good. It's also nice that the seats and the food are close together. I also enjoyed the Halloween menu
kawara CAFE & DINING Kawasakimoazuten
#japantrip
I made a reservation online on the same day, but as soon as l entered the store, I was told to call for reservations on the same day which was so upsetting.
It was an all-you-can-drink course, but when I ordered one beer, they ran out of beer. They explained to me the additional charge for the all-you-can-drink option at the beginning, but they didn't explain that there was no beer available.
There was no follow-up for what happened after that. It was quite a response.
I went there because they included beer in the all-you-can-drink package.
Is the food served at a cafe? I'm glad it was put together in a fashionable way. It was delicious as usual.
It may be good for lunch, but honestly I don't feel like it's a restaurant you'd go to at night.
C.STAND Kawasaki
#japantrip
Lovely shisha place with classy interiors and peaceful ambience. Great service and courteous staff. The shisha is smooth and affordable with various flavours to choose from. Don't forget to get the ice hose for best experience.
I went here with a friend.
Lofi hiphop logm, charging outlets, and super cheap drinks, as well as a very very comfy sofa were the highlights of the place. considering the price, would definately recommend if youre just looking for a place to relax and chill.
Lovot Cafe
#japantrip
We had a fun time here with robots and enjoying the food. You must make a reservation through their website as they allow only 70 mins in store.
You must purchase food for each member in your party in order to get a lovot robot. Also you cannot demand which robot you want - the staff picks any random that is fully charged and hand to you after you have placed the order.
The robots have pretty basic functions and in our case it probably didn't take much English commands but was still a fun experience. The food was really good - we ordered avocado hamburger, French toast and kids meals. All were super delicious.
IYEMON CAFE Lazona Kawasaki
#japantrip
Fusion japanese food. Come during weekdays for the lunch set. Came here 2x, once for udon and fried chicken. The chicken was a lil too fried for my liking but still alright.
Love the matcha drinks and will drop by soon for the rice bowl and pancakes.
2nd time.
Souffle style pancakes was okay...ordered the seasonal fruits one w strawberry, tasted more cake than souffle.
This cafe has updated to a QR code based menu. In EN and JP. Neat! Super convenient.
COFFEEMILK
#japantrip
A cafe specializing in coffee and milk.
The Kawasaki store seems to be the only store.
Open from 7am, it is conveniently located inside Atre in front of the central ticket gates of Kawasaki Station.
There are counter seats and a few small tables inside.
Layout designed for use by 1 to 2 people.
Counter seats have power outlets and luggage hooks.
I like shops that at least provide hooks for hanging luggage, even if they don't have enough space to store their luggage, so I'm happy with that.
This time we have the salted butter milk French bread set and coffee. Also got hotdog
SHISEIDO PARLOUR Salon de Café Lazona Kawasaki Plaza Branch
#japantrip
Not as grand nor as crowd like its Ginza flagship. It has its own modern Mediterranean chic to it. The blue white and pine interior with a hint of Gold really elevates its modern class concept. Spacious seating. Offers light meals and dessert. Slightly above average prices but the quality and ambience is worth it. It even has a small section selling its parlour products. Quite a lovely place to rest your feet at tea time.
Hoshino Coffee Kawasaki Ekimae branch
#japantrip
Once you enter the alley from Kawasaki Ginryu-gai, you will see Hoshino Coffee Kawasaki Ekimae branch, as if you are trying to avoid the hustle and bustle of the city. This place is truly an oasis. The space is so relaxing that it's hard to believe that the store is located in a downtown area. Everyone, from the staff who escorted us to our seats to the people who serviced our items, treated us in a pleasant manner.
This time, we enjoyed the autumn menu. The chestnut soufflé pancakes are a perfect complement to the regular menu pancakes! It was by far the best among Mont Blanc sweets. The richness of the chestnut paste is also exquisite.
And Mont Blanc French Toast. The excitement of the marron glacé ice cream melting and mixing with the chestnut paste and maple syrup is addictive.
RHC CAFE Kawasaki
#japantrip
Very happy to have found the RHC Cafe near us.
We had to go to Yokohama or Tokyo for nice Australian-Style coffee and food.
We enjoy the coffee so much everytime, just perfect. As was the cocoa banana drink.
Food we had was very tasty, enjoyed every bite of chicken over rice, Mexican roast chicken salad in tortilla, and the not too sweet and perfectly prepared pancakes.
It's really almost 5*, however what bothered me is that the hot dishes are served a bit lukewarm, especially the rice of the chicken over rice had cooled down quite a bit.
Will go back anyway and planning to invite friends to meet here an relax.
