It is full of excitement! ⸻ Day 6｜Himeji Castle & Kobe Tour Today we set off for Hyogo Prefecture, and our first stop is the World Cultural Heritage #Himeji Castle. This most representative castle in Japan is famous for its pure white exterior walls and is known as the "White Egret Castle". Climbing up the castle tower, you can overlook the entire #Himeji City, and the scenery is very spectacular. Then take a bus to #Kobe, first visit the #Shintoku Shrine dedicated to the god of love and prosperous business, and then walk into #Nankinmachi, which is the largest Chinatown in Kansai. You can taste various Chinese delicacies such as siu mai, xiaolongbao, and meat buns to satisfy your taste buds. ⸻ Day 7｜Universal Studios Japan, have fun! This day is dedicated to #UniversalStudiosJapan! From the Hogwarts Castle in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, to the thrilling Flying Pterosaur roller coaster, to various limited-time events, you can be immersed in the world of entertainment all day long. If you’re tired, don’t forget to eat a burger from #Shake Shack to end the day deliciously. ⸻ Day 8｜Wandering the streets of Osaka After changing to a hotel near #Tsutenkaku, we first went shopping at #Nihonbashi, which is famous for its electrical appliances and anime products. You can also eat some fresh seafood and Japanese snacks at the #Kuromon Market here. In the afternoon, head to the most lively areas in Osaka - #Shinsaibashi and #Dotonbori, where you can find everything from drugstores, clothing, groceries to souvenirs. You can also take a Dotonbori cruise to admire this bustling city from the water and experience Osaka's unique water city scenery. ⸻ Day 9｜Tsutenkaku, Osaka Port, Umeda Shopping Today we first climbed up the #Tsutenkaku to overlook the streets of Osaka. Although this landmark building is not very high, it is full of the retro atmosphere of the Showa era. Then head to #梅田 , where there are many large shopping malls and department stores, suitable for shopping or finding a cafe to take a break. In the afternoon, we went to #大坂港 to see the sea view and feel the sea breeze, which was a perfect end to our trip to Osaka. ⸻ Day 10｜One-day trip to Nara, swimming with deer When you come to Kansai, how can you not go to #Nara? The first stop is the world's oldest wooden building #Horyuji, where you can experience the tranquil atmosphere of a thousand years of history. Then we went to #东向购物街 for lunch, where there are many ramen, sushi and Japanese snacks, with rich choices. In the afternoon, we went to #NaraPark to interact closely with the deer, buy deer crackers to feed them, and experience the cute moment when the deer "nod" to ask for food! Finally, we entered Todaiji Temple and admired one of the largest wooden buildings in the world, bringing a spectacular end to this journey. ⸻ Day 11｜Last shopping time & return trip The last day, although it is the return day, there is still one last chance to shop! Take a bus to #Linkongchengoutlet, where there are discount stores of major brands, it is definitely a good place to go shopping. For example, this year, the cherry blossoms in Wakayama bloomed earlier, while the ones in Arima Onsen were at their peak, and the ones in Shirahama were already past full bloom, with some petals falling. I visited a few cities in Kansai this time and want to recommend a few less crowded, beautiful cherry blossom spots: Wakayama - Shirahama - Hirakatsuen Park This park is not accessible by public transport, so you’ll need to drive. There’s a parking lot, and it's mostly locals enjoying the area with their families or RVs. You can stroll along the small forest paths and enjoy the breathtaking views of cherry blossoms on the hills. It's truly an amazing sight! 🌸 Tip: If you're okay with a 30-minute uphill walk, even tourists can reach it with Google Maps. Arima Onsen - River Road in Front of the Station - Nearby Temple and Inns To be honest, I wouldn't recommend this spot to foreign travelers unless you're specifically coming for the hot springs. The commercial street is tiny, and there’s not much else to do besides soaking in the onsen. However! The cherry blossoms in the spring are definitely worth visiting. The ancient streets and onsen hotels, combined with the cherry blossoms, make for a tranquil experience. The area is not crowded, and transportation is convenient. Absolutely peak bloom! 🌸🎯 📍Photo Stops: Miidera Temple Lake Biwa Canal (Biwako Sosui) Kawaguchi Park Under Setagawa Bridge Kaizu Ōsaki 🌸 The Setagawa River spot was a total surprise! #cherryblossom25 Catching the Tail End of Sakura Season with Serendipitous Beauty I missed the busiest part of cherry blossom season, but in return, I caught its peaceful, quiet tail end — a spontaneous journey filled with surprises and springtime magic. 🧺🌸 📍 Setagawa Park This beauty was completely unexpected — we only found it because the train service was suspended, and we had to walk to the next station. We were so taken by the riverside view that we came back again the next day to explore the opposite bank. Petals drifting on the wind, the river flowing gently beside us — it was a moment that lingered. 📍 Nakagawaguchi Park Another totally unplanned stop. As the train rolled through the streets, its windows brushed against cherry tree branches, and petals fluttered down like snow. We decided to get off on the spot and walk back — and stumbled into this quiet little park, where cherry blossoms bloomed softly under the sky. 📍 Lake Biwa Canal This historic waterway stretches from Ōtsu City in Shiga Prefecture all the way to Keage in Kyoto. Both sides of the canal are lined with cherry trees — in spring, they turn the path into a magical sakura tunnel. We followed the hillside trail up to Miidera Temple. Although we couldn’t get tickets for the famous moon-viewing platform, the views from the mountain were still absolutely worth the climb. 📍 Kaizu Ōsaki One of Lake Biwa’s most famous hidden spots — a 4km long sakura tunnel by the lake. You can rent a bike from JR Makino Station and ride along the blossom path. But we arrived too late and were politely declined by the staff 😅 So we walked instead — 4km round trip, stopping for photos the whole way. It was tiring, but we didn’t mind. With a short distance, a mall was nearby where shopping and dining found easy. We drive a bit further vis the Biwa Bridge and arrived at another town with many shops and mall where food outlets and shopping took place. We drove along the lake and reached many tourist's attractions. We had a good time staying at this hotel with awesome view over the famous lake. The facilities inside the hotel was justified for a five star yet the hog spring kn basement floor adjoining the hotel block was a bit disappointed as if was constructed in basement level with no windows or looking outside, a confined space for hog springs was not my cup of tea in Japan. Besides, both accommodations and service was up to standard.
