Beautiful temples in the northeastern region
Wat Sawang Hua Na Kham, Kalasin Province
Isan Sim made of thousands of species of wood, the only one in Isan. Wooden Sim, Laotian mixed art style. The Isan Sim is almost entirely made of wood. The construction is still not finished.
This chapel was designed and built according to the imagination of Phra Khru Si Pariyat Chotitham, the abbot and the abbot of Yang Talat District. It was built as a place to enshrine Luang Pho Phra Phuttha Wichaiyan. The inscription on the wooden plate behind the honeycomb reads: "The wooden chapel (wooden Sim) of thousands of species was built according to the intention of Luang Pho Phra Khru Si Pariyat Chotitham (Chonchai Akkathammo), the abbot of Wat Sawang Hua Na Kham. He led the monks, novices, and villagers of Hua Na Kham to build it. Phra Ajahn Maha Chumphon Chutpalo, his disciples, and Buddhists jointly built it."
Phra Khru Si Pariyat Chotitham is interested in art. He designed and inspected the construction work himself. This makes the wood carvings beautiful and perfect. When you come to Wat Sawang Hua Na Kham, another important place (aside from visiting the Isan wooden chapel), don't forget to pay homage and ask for blessings at the ancient wooden chapel, which is where the statue of Luang Pho Phuttha Wichayan (Luang Pu Yai) is enshrined, the Buddha statue that has been a symbol of the city of Hua Na Kham for a long time.
Luang Pho Phuttha Wichayan, a Buddha statue in the Mara-Vijaya attitude, approximately 500 years old, is the symbol of the city of Hua Na Kham. It is a place of worship for Buddhists from all directions because people come to pay homage and ask for blessings on various festivals, such as the New Year festival, the annual water pouring ceremony, and the Buddha consecration ceremony of various sacred objects.
The construction of the chapel (Isan sim) made of a thousand-natured wood, the only one in the Isan, Wat Sawang Hua Na Kham, Tambon Hua Na Kham, Amphoe Yang Talat, Kalasin Province, with Phra Khru Si Pariyattichotitham (Chanachai Akkathammo), the abbot of Wat Sawang Hua Na Kham. He presided over the construction of this Ubosot (Isan Sim) made of a thousand-year-old wood. The monks, novices, and villagers of Hua Na Kham, as well as the general public, helped each other. The ceremony to demolish the old Ubosot was held on December 3, 2009, led by Luang Por Phra Khru Phothibunwat, the abbot of Chiang Yuen District. On December 7, 2009, a hole was dug and the foundation for the construction of this new Ubosot was poured at the original location.
If anyone comes to visit Kalasin Province, stop by to see the beauty and pay homage to Luang Por Phutthawichayana for good fortune.
