Wuxuhai is a lake in the middle of a mountain range at around 3800 metres of altitude. With the region still in the process of opening up, the lack of signal and the poor roads makes this an empty haven.
No people, no distractions - just hours of natural hiking trails surrounded by yaks, horses, and mountains. Heading out early will allow you to enjoy the sunrise surrounded by mist and nature.
Then, when you’re done - grab a ride into one of the local villages for some yak soup and other local delicacies/ Tibetan culture.
Be warned - English is non existent so pick up a phrase book or brush up on some Duolingo practice first.

Wuxu Lake | Light breeze and rippling water.
Wuxu Lake was once known as the "Jiulong Secret Land" and a "niche camping site". Keywords: free admission, accessible by car... The lake is at a low altitude and surrounded by forests, making it a great place for those with altitude sickness to come and breathe in the fresh air.
Autumn has arrived in western Sichuan. If you visit this route in mid-October, you will be amazed by the autumn scenery. The journey is not too far.

It is one of the sister peaks of 'King of Shu Mountain' Gongga Mountain. Mengdong is nestled in the high mountain canyon by the Yalong River, with altitudes ranging from 2550 to 5600 meters. Xieka Nature Reserve, located about 130 kilometers east of Jiulong County, borders Shimian County, Ya'an area to the east.
