The Glorious Journey: General Hong Xuezhi's War History.
"The Glorious Journey" is exhibited on the second floor of the General Hong Xuezhi Memorial Hall in the Jinzhai County Revolutionary Museum, located at 230 Jinzhai Road, Jinzhai County, Lu'an City, Anhui Province.
General Hong Xuezhi was born in February 1913 in Hexi Village, Shuanghe Town, Jinzhai County, Lu'an City, Anhui Province. In the winter of 1928, Hong Xuezhi joined the peasant armed forces led by our underground party, thus embarking on the revolutionary path. In 1929, he joined the Communist Party of China and participated in the Shangnan Uprising, becoming a Red Army soldier. From then on, he fought in Hubei, Henan, and Anhui, and later moved with the Fourth Front Army of the Red Army to Sichuan and Shaanxi, participated in the Long March, and became the director of the military political department at the age of 21, fully demonstrating his leadership skills in political, military, and logistical work. After studying at the Red Army University (later transferred to the Anti-Japanese University), he served as the chief of staff of the Third Division of the New Fourth Army, fought in northern Jiangsu, and made significant contributions to the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japan. After the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japan, he led his troops to the northeast, participated in the Zhongchang Road blocking battle, the Siping siege battle, and the three campaigns in southern Jiangsu, and then moved south, participating in the Pingjin Campaign, until the liberation of Hainan Island.
