engdong Town in Pu'er City, Jiangcheng
Another beautiful Dai minority town, Zhengdong Town in Pu'er City, Jiangcheng.
Zhengdong Town is a border town in Jiangcheng, Pu'er, Yunnan, inhabited primarily by the Dai ethnic group. It boasts a long-standing Dai history, authentic and pure Dai customs, unique natural scenery, and traditional Dai stilt houses that have been well-preserved in the town, which is one of its distinctive features.
The town's 'Chengzi Sanzhai Village' has been recognized as a 'Chinese Traditional Village', and it is one of the most worthy areas to visit. In the village, there is the Hasa Altar Grand Buddha Temple, which means the central Buddha temple. There is also the county-level key cultural relic protection unit 'Hejing Pagoda', which was built during the Qing Dynasty's Daoguang era (1821-1850). It is a four-story gourd-shaped square vase and square bell-style pagoda made of blue brick and rammed earth, standing 7.5 meters tall. The pagoda spire is gourd-shaped, the body is coated with gold powder, and it is decorated with Dai folk patterns. Unlike the Buddhist pagodas of Han Buddhism, the 'Hejing Pagoda' retains more of the original meaning of praying for the family to be healthier, more auspicious, children to be more beautiful and smart, and to turn bad luck into good fortune in the coming year. Most of the Dai Buddhist pagodas are sumeru seat pagodas, single pen pagodas, or multi-sided pagodas, but Jiangcheng's Hejing Pagoda is the only square vase and square bell-style pagoda in Yunnan and even in the whole country, making it a rare and unique shape with extremely high artistic value.
In the village, you can also see a lot of the Dai ethnic group's intangible cultural heritage 'Dai handmade brocade'. Dai women set up wooden looms on the open ground of their homes to weave brocade themselves. Some families can even tailor Dai ethnic clothing for you, and if you like, you can have a set of Dai ethnic costumes made to order.
The village houses are surrounded by many beautiful flowers and plants, which complement the traditional Dai residential architecture, making it a great spot for photography.
Warm Tips
1. Navigate to Zhengdong Town in Pu'er City, Jiangcheng by self-driving; parking, dining, and accommodation are all very convenient.
2. Obtain permission before visiting private homes.
3. Travel civilly; do not pick the beautiful flowers and plants in the village, and do not litte
Yunnan Travel | Jiangcheng: A city connected to three countries
| Jiangcheng: A city connected to three countries.
Jiangcheng County is located in the south of Yunnan Province, under the jurisdiction of Pu'er City, and is an autonomous county of the Hani and Yi ethnic groups. My impression is that it is a clean and tidy small city, especially in the early morning after the rain, with clouds and mist surrounding the green mountains, the scenery is particularly beautiful, making people can't help but like it.
Highlight recommendation
Named Jiangcheng because it is surrounded by the three rivers of Lixian River, Manlao River, and Mengye River.
It is the only county in Yunnan Province that borders Laos and Vietnam.
Located on the Shiceng Mountain at the junction of China's Yunnan Province, Vietnam's Dien Bien Province, and Laos's Phongsaly Province, it is the junction of the three countries' borders. There is a granite boundary monument on the top of the mountain, with the faces of the monument written in Chinese, Vietnamese, and Lao facing the territories of each country.
Jiangcheng is a place where ethnic minorities live, with 24 ethnic minorities such as the Hani, Yi, Dai, and Yao living here. The Zhengdong Town and Mantan Ancient Village in Jiangcheng are the most ethnic scenic spots.
Isn't it worth a look?
It is recommended to go to the Three Kingdoms City and Jiangcheng Museum in the county, and walk along the street, it feels very warm and comfortable.
Welcome friends who like it to like, collect, and follow me, there will be more exciting later
