Jaén is the capital of the province of Jaén. The gateway to Andalucía 🚪 on the northern side of the Sierra de Jabalcuz. The rich landscapes and natural scenery are all here.
The Arab Baths (Baños árabes) were built during the Taifa period, on the foundations of former Roman baths by the rulers of that time. It is a famous attraction in Jaén, and one can imagine how much people enjoyed themselves back then! The Jaén Cathedral (Catedral de Jaén) was built in the 16th century and is the masterpiece of the famous Spanish Renaissance architect Andrés de Vandelvira. The urban area here looks unique against the backdrop of the mountains. Walking through the city feels like traveling through time. At Restaurant Plaza Vieja, I experienced the local cuisine, the service was excellent, and the pedestrians on the road were very friendly.
