Shuzenji Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
~ Shuzenji in Autumn
The oldest onsen town on Shizuoka’s beautiful Izu Peninsula, it is listed as one of the “100 Best Hot Springs” in the country. Shuzenji also made GaijinPot’s list as of one the three most unforgettable ryokan and onsen experiences in Japan from travel expert Rob Goss. After soaking in the hot spring, don a yukata (a light cotton kimono), and stroll down the bamboo forest path along the Katsura River. The natural scenery is particularly stunning during autumn.

The Togetsu Bridge of Shuzenji Onsen is different from the Togetsu Bridge of Kyoto. Aside from the fact that they do not look anything more alike, they also have a lot of different things to offer. The Togetsu Bridge of Shuzenji Onsen has many locals roaming around with a 1900s carriage, offering tourists for a paid ride around the historical complex. That and many more fun in the area!

Izu demon cat pass! Xiushan Temple can also be understood as a small town in Japan, a famous sightseeing spot of Izu, which is a temple, a shrine, a bamboo forest, a hot spring, and a history and humanity. The Xiu Temple, the core area of Xiushan Temple, was founded in the early days of the Heian period by the master of the Hongfa (that is, in the demon cat biography). Before I came, I heard about the beauty of Hongye Hongqiao in Xiushan Temple. Therefore, it is really worthwhile to wear a kimono to walk through the ancient streets of Xiushan Temple. The attractions here are very concentrated, and most of the famous attractions and restaurants can be reached on foot. It is a stop that Shizuoka should not miss, also known as "Little Kyoto of Izu"
I spent the New Year's holiday abroad at Shuzenji, Japan
Shuzenji, Japan.
🌟🌟🌟 Shuzenji in Japan holds a high status, and in the evening, it is very quiet with few people around, allowing for a peaceful appreciation of the temple's beauty. The Fudo hot spring is said to have been named when the 8th-century monk Kobo Daishi struck a rock with a Buddhist priest's staff, causing hot spring water to gush forth. This is also the birthplace of the Shuzenji hot springs.
🌟🌟🌟 The Niji-no-Sato Park in Shuzenji recreates a 17th-century English town atmosphere with 'British Village' and a 'Craftsmen Village' showcasing traditional Japanese crafts, where one can spend hours savoring the experience.
🌟🌟🌟 Visiting Shuzenji allows one to feel an inner peace, with its scenic views everywhere, ubiquitous hot springs, timeless old inns, and more. No wonder there are so many tourists from all over the world who love Japan.

You can take a cable car to get a high vantage point to admire the scenery of Mount Fuji and Suruga Bay. Not only does it provide tourists with safe and comfortable new facilities, but both the mountaintop and the foot of the mountain have been renovated, greatly increasing the outdoor open space, especially the brand new 'Biru Terrace' which takes visitors from the commanding height of 452 meters on Mount Katsuragi to appreciate the luxurious and boundless scenery.
The cable car ropeway, which can be said to be the landmark of Izu-no-Kuni Panorama Park, is about 1800m long and 452m high. Izu National Panorama Park is located at the top of Gecheng, 452 meters above sea level, and can be reached by cable car in about 7 minutes. The entire park is small in size and there are several walking routes that can be seen in the direction of Mount Fuji, Suruga Bay, and Tiancheng and Xiushan Temple. Along the trail to the west side of the Mingshui Hill Observatory, next to the clock of happiness, this is one of the locations of Shizuoka Prefecture identified by the "Holy Land of Lovers". Sitting on the terrace of the coffee shop on the top of the mountain, the breeze is blowing, easy and comfortable~ If you want to have a quieter space, you can choose a semi-enclosed balcony terrace, facing the Mount Fuji, as if you are sitting in the world ~

Tendo Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
Tiantong Old Street, feel the taste of the ancient street
Li Ronghao's "Old Street" sang: look back, has been for many years, looking at the sky through the fingers, I went back to this old street.
The age grows, the more you like nostalgia, look for snacks when you are young, watch movies when you are young, walk the road you took when you were young, walk in Tiantong Old Street, like back to 20 years ago, brick and gray tiles, sitting in the bamboo chair at the door The old man who closed his eyes and rested for a moment, as if to see the grandmother who called me home to eat when I was young.
Look at the old streets of Guzhen, selling the same milk tea barbecue, full of commercial atmosphere. Walking in Tiantong Old Street, I feel the ancient style and folk customs that are still simple. Old houses, ancient wells, well-preserved Taibai Temple, the disappearing shaving shop, watch shop, carpenter study center, and a special history of the informed building. The memory of a small period of time came into the mind with the old street.
Its more like walking in an old street than going into an old time.
In the grocery store on the side of the road, I bought the salt water ice that I had when I was a child. I remembered a big ice when I was a child, a big watermelon. The whole family was in a row at the door to enjoy a cool chat, which is all summer memories.
Tiantong Old Street, less than 2 kilometers away, stop and pat, it takes about 2 hours to finish.
Navigation: Tiantong Old Street, tour time 1-2 hours. Open all day, no tickets

Unlike all the other castles that I’ve been to before, Atami Castle doesn’t really have a huge gallery. It only houses many miniatures and paintings of castles all around Japan, some traditional artifacts, and some old paintings of ancient Japan’s porn. *laughs* However, those are not the things you would like to experience in Atami Castle. What you definitely want to see in Atami Castle is the view of Atami City from the high vantage point.

Atami Hanami
#cherryblossom2024
Atami Castle, towering 120 meters above Sagami Bay, looks very ancient. However, although the creators were inspired by the architecture of the Momoyama period (1568-1600), this is one of the newest castles in Japan: it was built in 1959. Anyway, the view from the castle is simply magnificent, and tourists definitely have something to see.
How to get there
At Atami Station on the JR Tokaido Line, take the Yuyu Sightseeing Loop sightseeing tour bus and drive to Atami Castle.
After getting off the ring bus at the Marine Spa Atami stop, use the Atami cable car: from the upper station to the castle it is only a few minutes on foot.
Modern building
Unlike other Japanese castles, Atami is not a historical building. It was built in 1959, during the period of the tourist boom, and has always served only for the entertainment of tourists.
Nevertheless, the castle is a fairly accurate copy of those that were built during the Momoyama period, at the end of the XVI century. Therefore, it fits perfectly into a number of original buildings of that era, such as the castle in Osaka.
Panoramic view
Today, Atami Castle is a universal tourist attraction, where a variety of objects of Japanese culture are presented: from a collection of samurai costumes from the Edo period to an exhibition of erotic prints in the Ukiyo—e style.
The exposition dedicated to the castles of Japan and their history is a tribute to the historical "ancestors" of the Atami.
The real highlight of the castle is the view from the top floor of Sagami Bay. It becomes especially fascinating in the spring, when the cherry blossoms bloom. Sakura blooming here is esecially charming! However, it is also good idea to come here in the summer, during the famous Fireworks Festival.
The most beautiful cherry blossoms in eastern Shizuoka are all here (from late March to early April)
Eastern Shizuoka, Izu Peninsula,
as if you were in an ocean of cherry blossoms, with pink petals fluttering down, picturesque and poetic.
As the spring breeze passes, under the cherry trees, a romantic pink is left behind. A gentle breeze stirs, and amidst the cherry blossom rain, it's like a dreamy fairyland.
Immersed in it, the soul is purified, forgetting the troubles and disturbances of the mundane world. Each cherry blossom is a masterpiece of nature, each view a gift from the great outdoors. In this ocean of cherry blossoms, let your heart drift with the wind,
and in the fragrance of the flowers, appreciate the beauty and brevity of life. Listen quietly,
to the blossoming and falling of the flowers, feel the passage of time, and taste the cycle of life.
The Izu Peninsula, where the cherry blossoms bloom, is the yearning for the beauty of the soul, and also a portrayal of life in full bloom.
