Tucked away amidst lush landscapes, the Gia Long Emperor Tomb stands as a grand testament to the country's revered founder. This awe-inspiring burial site offers a journey through Vietnam's historical roots and regal heritage. The entrance ticket is required. The road to this tomb is also poetic.
The tomb's impressive entrance, adorned with dragons and divine creatures, sets the stage for a majestic exploration. As you stroll along the serene pathways, flanked by verdant gardens and tranquil ponds, you'll be transported back in time to an era of imperial grace.

MINH MANG TOMB - Hue
Getting There - Minh Mang Tomb is only about 12 km from the center of Hue city, you can move along Highway 49, go along the Perfume River, to Tuan Bridge and go a little further to get there. Currently, the location of the mausoleum has been updated accurately on Google Maps, so you can easily go here according to the directions on the map.
Attractions -
Dai Hong Mon is the main door of King Minh Mang's tomb, opening the way to go inside. The gate is built from lime brick, painted in a bright, dignified red color. Dai Hong Mon is divided into 3 entrances and 24 leaf roofs decorated with exquisite dragon carp and dragon veins. According to historical records, the large door in the center of Dai Hong Mon since its construction has only opened once to bring the coffin of King Minh Mang into the mausoleum. After that, even the emperors who came to offer incense here could only enter by two side gates on either side, Ta Hong Mon and Huu Hong Mon. Today, when you come to visit, you will also enter by these two side gates.
Lau Minh Lau easily impresses visitors thanks to its outstanding red color. To get to the floor, from Sung An Palace, you can go through one of three bridges: Ta Phu (on the left), Trung Dao (in the middle) or Huu Bat (on the right). Legend has it that Minh Lau is the place for walking and sightseeing of the Nguyen Dynasty kings in the past.
With a cool, fresh space and poetic landscape, Minh Lau floor has now become a very hot check-in place for tourists every time they visit Minh Mang Tomb.

Hue is also famous for its food, which is known for small portions, delicate flavors, and royal presentation.
• Nhà Hàng Vỹ Dạ Xưa: A beautiful riverside restaurant offering traditional dishes like bánh bèo (steamed rice cakes) and lộ lạc. The setting is calm and elegant, perfect for a slow meal.
• Quán ăn An Tâm: A local favorite for nem lụi (grilled lemongrass pork skewers) and bún thịt nướng (grilled pork with noodles). Tasty and satisfying.
Chill at Hue’s Stylish Cafes
Hue’s café scene is also worth exploring.

MINH MANG TOMB
MINH MANG TOMB - HUE
The original purpose of going to Minh Mang Tomb was to check in the ancient architecture, but by some force, I had the opportunity to learn and know more interesting historical information related to Minh Mang Tomb and the process of its completion.
✨ Minh Mang Tomb was originally designed to look like the upper part of the human body from above, with a head, spine, and two lungs
✨ Many officials in charge were demoted and suspended from work when building the right side of Trung Minh Lake because they made mistakes compared to the design - instead of healthy lungs, the lake was dug in the shape of a lung of a person with pneumonia due to smoking too much @@ (according to what the tour guide told me)
✨ The structures inside Minh Mang Tomb were built like a miniature Hue Imperial Citadel because the king wanted his life in the afterlife to be the same as when he was alive
✨ The path from the gate of Minh Mang Tomb to Buu Thanh (where the king was buried - in theory) is a straight line because King Minh Mang was a politician, for the king everything needed to be clear and straight to the point, he did not like to be devious
✨ The crescent-shaped lake surrounding Buu Thanh - in addition to the meaning explained on Wikimedia - I was hear another interesting information that "King Minh Mang believed that the new moon would be full and shine, while the full moon would then wane and gradually lose its light - He hoped that in his time, Dai Nam (today's Vietnam) was only in the new moon phase, his children, the Nguyen dynasties later would continue the journey from the new moon to the full moon and shine even brighter.
✨ According to theory - below Buu Thanh is where the king was buried, but the truth is that the king's coffin was buried somewhere in the Minh Mang Tomb area, not below Buu Thanh, and the specific location is unknown.

CLOSE TO NATURE WITH RÚ CHÁ OF HUẾ
This is an exclusive destination for Hues who want to escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. Spetacular view from the top of the lighthouse.
Better bring hats, umbrellas, sunscreen and mosquito-anti spray. The best time to visit is either sunrise or sunset when you can capture photos with top-notch lighting effects.
A bit hard to find the location so better check the map in advance.

Vietnam - The most beautiful tomb of the Nguyen Dynasty - Minh Mang Tomb
The Minh Mang Tomb is known as the most magnificent royal tomb after being listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site!
It is located near Hue City in central Vietnam and is the furthest away from the royal tombs of the Nguyen Dynasty around Hue.
Minh Mang was the second king of the Nguyen Dynasty and reigned for 21 years.
He is known as a great king who led the Nguyen Dynasty to its peak.
He is said to be similar to King Sejong of Korea.
The building seen across the lake in the photo is said to be where Minh Mang is buried, but no one knows exactly where the emperor is buried.
It is a place where the gate opens only twice a year, on the 3rd day of the 12th lunar month and the 3rd day of the 3rd lunar month.
Dae Hong Gate - You can see the gate that opened only once when the emperor's coffin was carried in.
Jeong Dae Gwang Myeong - If you cross the bridge in the middle of the lake, you will find the royal tomb that opens only once a year.
The entrance fee is more expensive than other places, but this royal tomb is considered the most beautiful and a masterpiece among the royal tombs! It is not just a simple royal tomb, but a beautiful, unparalleled building with a geometric structure and its scale is also large!
I toured the royal tombs in the Hue region of Vietnam with my family, and although everyone enjoyed the city tour and the staycation, my parents, who like to see the history of the country they are traveling to, were very satisfied with this royal tomb tour!
