Tomonoura is a port town at the southern end of Fukuyama City, Hiroshima, Japan. This place is a picture-perfect port city of literature and history, Tomonoura is a fascinating destination in Hiroshima Prefecture. While visiting the place I noticed that the place is very similar with one of the place I saw in the movie, and as I searched, Tomonoura was featured in the Marvel film ‘Wolverine'. The old town center has fairly narrow traditional streets, that are so well kept they are reminiscent of times long passed. If you’re looking to visit Japan on a budget I’d strongly recommend checking out Hiroshima, it’s a wonderful city that doesn’t get enough praise for how budget friendly it is. It has a dark history but it’s turned into a lively and eclectic city with a huge food and shopping scene. ⭐️ Trains - We got the Shinkansen here from Osaka and it was a lot cheaper to do a train with stops. It only added 90 minutes to the journey but cost us half the price. The ticket agent will help you find cheaper tickets if you’re willing to do stops! ⭐️ Hotels - There are not as many options here compared to other cities in Japan so I stayed at a local boutique hotel. The rooms are small and there are not as many amenities as name brand chains but they’re great for a few days! we stayed in the Kiro hotel in Nishihiratsukacho. ⭐️ transport - the best part about Hiroshima is how compact The city is and you can walk to most of the hot spots. We only used transport when it rained. Everything else we walked to, so a great way to save money! ⭐️ Food - we didn’t have any issues here with food, even the more premium meals we had were very well priced and great quality. To save money head to Hondori! One of the biggest covered pedestrian streets I’ve seen, hundreds of street food vendors and restaurants. We came here everyday as we saw so much we wanted to try! There is also Korean BBQ / Sushi / teppanyaki on the side street if you want to spend more money. ⭐️ Nature - Hiroshima is a very green and beautiful city so a lot of our time was spent exploring and enjoying this. I went on a solo trip to Hiroshima for 2 days and 1 night! On the first day, I visited Miyajima⛩🦌. I enjoyed Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki at "Hiroshima Okonomiyaki Momochan," tried fried momiji (maple leaf-shaped sweets) with red bean paste and Setouchi lemon at "Momiji-do Niban-ya," and had a mojito at "GEBURA SISTER"🍁. The Setouchi lemon fried momiji was refreshingly sweet and absolutely delicious! (There were a lot of school trip students around, so I couldn’t explore leisurely💦, but the food was amazing🙆♀️). In the evening, I went to "Sushi Tatsu" located inside Hiroshima Station. Every piece of sushi was delicious, but the fresh conger eel was especially outstanding! I waited about 15 minutes, but it was totally worth it! I stayed at "THE KNOT HIROSHIMA." The room, including the bathroom and toilet, was very clean and comfortable! On the second day, I spent the morning visiting the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum and its surroundings, taking my time to reflect and relax. For lunch, I had the Negi-an Special at "Negi-an"🫡. I had a great time sightseeing alone! I highly recommend Hiroshima for anyone considering a solo trip!
