Hekou - A border city you must visit Hekou is located in Honghe Hani and Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province, also known as Hekou Yao Autonomous County, bordering Vietnam. Hekou is very hot, even in winter you can wear short sleeves. When you come here, you will find that this border town has many fun and novel things. Tips: 1. Taxis are the main mode of transportation in Hekou (remember this). You will find that you cannot get a ride-hailing car here. 2. Many Vietnamese people live and work here, because it is only separated from Lao Cai Province, Vietnam by a river. But most Vietnamese people can speak Mandarin, so you don't have to worry about communication. 3. The most lively place here is the Exotic Street, where you can look across the river to Vietnam and see the century-old train station - Vietnam Train Station. 4. Food: We tried Vietnamese coconut rolls and black bean ice, which were sweet. Most of the food can be found in Vietnam City, also known as Exotic Street. The restaurant we ate at is called "Red River Valley", which is popular with locals and Vietnamese people. You can try the local specialty duck egg, but many people don't like it. Vietnamese spring rolls and galou meat are highly recommended.

The humid climate and hot temperature make the locals very enthusiastic, and the rich snacks can also satisfy our taste buds: "Mao duck eggs," "coconut rolls," "Vietnamese spring rolls," "Yao rice dumplings," and so on. You can experience the local food flavor. The staff at Jinliyuan Hotel are very enthusiastic, and you can feel the sincere service. The free shuttle service in the city is very warm and convenient. The city enjoys a comfortable climate and is not high in altitude, boasting a long history. The Best Water Under Heaven -Nanxi river It is famous for it’s clean water, rare rocks, waterfalls, ancient villages and shoals. The Nanxi river is originally beautiful and the waters there are pure and soft. The guide told us the water has been praised by experts as the Best Water under heaven. Apart from the water and rocks, there are many ancient villages which are hidden among the green forest. had an amazing experience and highly recommend for getting out of cities and swimming in summer!
