Alive in Hatyai: A Night of Lights, Music and Magic
#nightlife
During my visit to Alive in Hatyai, I was immediately captivated by the enchanting ambiance that truly comes alive at night. The moment I stepped into the venue, I was surrounded by a mesmerizing array of hanging lanterns that lit up the towering trees, casting a warm glow across the entire space. It felt like stepping into a hidden paradise tucked away from the hustle and bustle.
The setting was complemented by a live singer performance that added a magical vibe to the evening. As the soulful melodies floated through the air, I found myself completely immersed in the moment, with the singer’s voice blending beautifully with the natural surroundings. There’s something about live music that makes an evening feel truly special, and the performers here did not disappoint.
The food added another layer of delight to my experience. I ordered a classic Thai fried rice paired with a refreshing iced drink, which was the perfect accompaniment for the night. The flavors were authentic, satisfying, and exactly what I needed after a day of exploring.
What struck me most about Alive was the relaxing atmosphere. The thoughtfully designed seating areas, from cozy nooks to open-air tables, provided the perfect spots to unwind and enjoy the view. Everywhere I looked, people were chatting, laughing, and soaking in the laid-back vibe.
Alive in Hatyai is more than just a place to eat – it’s a destination for a complete sensory experience. Between the scenic beauty, soothing music, delicious food, and the calm night air, I felt entirely at peace. It’s a must-visit for anyone looking to experience the unique charm of Hatyai's nightlife.

A Perfect Hatyai Day: Sweet Treats and Market Vibes
#thailandtrip
During my trip to Hatyai, I spent a day at Central Festival Mall. It's a massive shopping mall, and I was excited to try something I couldn't get back home in Malaysia or Singapore – KFC's egg tart! It was really delicious, and I was surprised it’s not available in more places.
After walking around the mall, I decided to relax at a nearby cafe called Local HDY. The atmosphere there was cozy, and it was the perfect spot to just chill and take a break.
In the evening, I headed over to Lee Garden Night Market. The market was packed with people, and there were so many stalls selling food, clothes, and souvenirs. It was a great way to end the day, just exploring and enjoying the lively vibe of the night market.

Hatyai Food Journey: From Chokdee Dimsum to South Thai Specialties
#thailandtrip
During my trip to Hatyai, I started the day with breakfast at Chokdee Dimsum. The place was packed, and there were so many choices of dim sum to pick from. Everything was fresh and delicious, especially the steamed dumplings.
After breakfast, I headed to Central Festival Mall for another round of shopping. This time, I decided to have lunch at the food court located on the ground floor. I went for the chicken rice, which was a simple but satisfying meal.
In the afternoon, I tried the local Thai milk tea, Cha Tra Mue. The tea was so flavorful and rich; I can see why it's popular.
For dinner, I went to the famous South Thai Bird's Nest restaurant. I was excited to try their suckling pig, which lived up to its reputation—it was crispy and juicy. I ate way too much, so later I stopped by 7-11 and bought some Yakult to help with digestion.

I had a great time during my trip to Hatyai! For breakfast, I went to Ah Ma Dimsum, where there were many choices of dim sum, and everything was super cheap.
Later, I visited After You for dessert, a famous place in Thailand. I tried their Mango Sticky Rice Bingsu, and it was really tasty and had a unique flavor.
For lunch, I went to 2 Pee Nong, where I had their famous duck egg tom yum noodle. The pork ribs were cooked so well that they melted in my mouth.
In the evening, I visited Khlong Hae Floating Market, which only opens on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The market had boats selling delicious food and interesting souvenirs. It was such a fun experience!

Take a bus Hatyai
#hatyaitrip
It is creative and has a lot of photo spots. For those who want beautiful photos, we have a tip to recommend: come in the morning because the direction of the light will shine on the shop in the morning. In the evening, the building blocks it, causing the light to not hit the shop, making the photos not beautiful. And in the evening, there are a lot of people, making it difficult to find a photo spot.
As for the service, we like it. We feel that the staff takes good care of the customers even though there were a lot of customers.
Cute and Cozy Café in The Heart of Hatyai
#hatyaitrip
📍Cheevit Cheeva, Hatyai
One of the most OG café in Hatyai city would be the famous Cheevit Cheeva. Lovely and cozy café to visit while in Hatyai! The café is huge, with several seating areas, including both indoor (air conditioned) and outdoor seatings. They offer mostly desserts and drinks, both coffee and non caffeine beverages. It was not too crowded during our visit as we were there as soon as they are open. Love the bingsu, served in great and cute presentation, very instagrammable. Love that the entire store is Instagrammable with great lighting, would definitely revisit this café in the future!

The Songkhla Centre of Islamic Faith
#100waysoftravel
The gorgeous Central Mosque of Songkhla or Dinul Islam is the central Islamic administration of Songkhla established in the 1991 by Mr.Asis Pitakkumpun, the chairman and Islamic committee during that time to provide Songkhla with a central mosque and religious administration
It serves as the center of the Islamic faith in Songkhla with worship facilities and delicate Islamic architecture… it is a 3-story building where the ground floor serves as a car park, the second floor serves at the committee’s office, the third floor serves as the prayer room in white color decorated by glass windows and marble floor, and a pool in the front yard so magnificent that it is called “Thailand’s Taj Mahal”.
And it is indeed such a breathtaking sight and an amazing place for photos….
The Central Mosque is opened to anyone whonis interested in learning more about the teachings of Allah…

Hat Yai Junction Railway Station, Songkhla Province
It's a large station with an underpass beneath the railway tracks, which is the first I've seen. The exterior looks quite old-fashioned, but once inside, it's quite modern and bustling with passengers, indicating it's a common travel hub.
Tourists can walk in and take photos inside. If a train is parked, you can ask for permission to board and take pictures. The staff are friendly, but there are soldiers patrolling the area.
Inside, there's street art for photo opportunities. Outside, there are food stalls selling red pork and crispy pork rice, and chicken rice, which are delicious and generous in portion. Don't forget to order the traditional coffee, which is sweet and creamy. 😁 Thai tea is also a good option for those who don't drink coffee.

Khao Kho Hong Viewpoint: Pay Homage to Phra Phuttha Mongkhon Maharaj
⛰ Khao Kho Hong is a mountain range and large forest area, the last green space in Hat Yai. Located in the Hat Yai Municipal Park, it stands 371 meters above sea level. This forest is still rich and serves as an important watershed for consumption and agriculture.
🏃♂️ Khao Kho Hong is like the lungs that purify the air for the people of Hat Yai. It is ideal for relaxation and breathing fresh air. The mountain top is another popular tourist spot in Hat Yai, where locals and tourists alike come to jog in the evening.
🌄 At the Khao Kho Hong viewpoint, you can see the entire city of Hat Yai, extending to Songkhla Lake, and watch the sun set over the horizon.
🙏 Besides being a viewpoint to see Hat Yai, it is also home to Phra Phuttha Mongkhon Maharaj, a brass Buddha statue in the posture of forbidding the relatives from fighting. King Rama IX bestowed the name, and it is the city’s principal Buddha image.
🙏 Phra Phuttha Mongkhon Maharaj is the largest Buddha statue in the south, standing 19.90 meters tall, facing the city of Hat Yai as if protecting its residents, ensuring their happiness and peace.
🧡 This place attracts tourists who come to admire its grandeur and beauty and to pay homage to Phra Phuttha Mongkhon Maharaj for good fortune.

Wat Kok Saman Khun: Visit the Unique Three-Spired Pagoda in Hat Yai
🙏 Wat Kok Saman Khun, a third-class royal monastery of common type, is an ancient temple in Hat Yai, serving as a spiritual center for the locals.
🏕 Originally an abandoned temple known as Wat Kok Samed Chun, it was elevated to an active temple with resident monks in 1922 by the efforts of Luang Por Pan and the coordination of Luang Thip Kamhaeng War, the first district officer of Hat Yai.
🏡 Luang Por Pan encouraged nearby villagers to clear the land and construct a pavilion in a single day, fulfilling their collective wish.
🕘 Luang Por Pan designated Sunday, April 8, 1923, as an auspicious day to settle in the temple.
🏕 The succeeding abbot, Phra Kru Saman Khunarak, built the first ordination hall under the patronage of a royal minister, consecrating the boundary stones in 1937 and receiving royal consecration in 1932. The temple was renamed from Wat Kok Samed Chun to Wat Kok Saman Khun.
Inside the temple, there are important sites to worship and visit, including:
🛕 The Three-Spired Pagoda, a unique structure in Hat Yai built in 1989, housing three relics brought from Sri Lanka.
🙏 A statue of Luang Por Pan, the first abbot and restorer of this temple.
🛕 Additionally, there is the ordination hall, monks' quarters, a library, and beautifully intricate temple grounds.
