This restaurant and attraction is located in Hartebeespoort (also known as Harties) on the North side of the dam. Here you’ll find little shops, a restaurant that actually does serve most of its dishes with or on french toast. Many people don’t know that this was actually a movie set at first for the Afrikaans movie ‘French Toast’. Actual sets seen in the movie are still easily recognizable once you visit this attraction. Besides this, there is a little Eiffel tower which is the main attraction where you’ll see most people take their pictures. Right outside the the restaurant you’ll find a few shops selling biltong, baked good and some memorabilia. The food was well priced and the quality better than expected. Too traumatised to live in the wild now, these elephants are being loved and cared for by their competent handlers at the Elephant Sanctuary in Hartbeespoort! After a short informative and educational talk on elephant behaviour and characteristics, the field rangers introduce visitors to their elephants. Visitors then take a leisurely stroll on a well trodden path with these beautiful animals towering behind them towards a clearing where they can get to know them up close in a relaxed and calm atmosphere. #trip
