Acadia National Park, USA
Acadia National Park is located in the middle of the coast of Maine, southwest of Bar Harbor. It is the crown jewel of the North Atlantic Coast, protecting the natural beauty of the rocky headlands along the Atlantic coastline of the United States, including the tallest mountains along the Atlantic coast.
Acadia features glacier-capped coastal and island landscapes, a rich variety of habitats, high biodiversity, clean air and water, and a rich cultural history.
Acadia has a rich human history dating back more than 10,000 years to the Wabanaki people. The 17th century brought fur traders and other European explorers, while the 19th century saw an influx of summer tourists, and then wealthy families.
Among them were many environmentally conscious citizens, including George B. Dole, known as the Father of Acadia, whose efforts led to the establishment of the first national park east of the Mississippi River and the only national park in the eastern United States. #USA #NationalPark #Cruise #Forest #Lake
