Let's Catch the Breeze in Halmstad: A Hidden Gem on Sweden's West Coast! 🌬️🇸🇪
#summervacay
How did I stumble upon this city, you ask? Well, I passed through Halmstad on a trip to Gothenburg previously and told myself I'd come back to explore when I had the chance. And about half a year later, I actually did! This city is quite small; you can essentially see it all in half a day to a full day. Of course, I feel it's more suited for a leisurely holiday – if you're on vacation, then just go with the flow! 😉
Perhaps because it was a Saturday, there weren't many restaurants open. However, there are still some places to eat in the city center, like Thai food, burgers, etc. It's a good idea to check the opening hours on Google Maps beforehand, though they might not always be perfectly accurate. 😅
After exiting the train station, if you navigate towards the city center, you'll pass by the cathedral and the castle.
Halmstad Castle: This 17th-century castle is located by the Nissan River and is a significant landmark of the city. When we visited, the castle wasn't open, so we could only admire it from the outside. The cathedral, however, was open, and they even had their own postcards and cards! 🏰⛪
