Lasarte-Oria is a lively, modern municipality located very close to the beaches and offering incredible views of the Oria valley. Nearly all its area is built up, making it the municipality with the highest population density in Gipuzkoa province. The river Oria runs through the locality, with the locality of the same name to the south. Lasarte-Oria is a new town since it was founded in 1986. I went to watch a match of "Real Sociedad", based in the Basque Country, Spain⚽️ The purpose of this trip was to see Takefusa Kubo play with my very own eyes. The match was held at the team's home stadium, Anoeta, and since it was during Golden Week, there were a few Japanese supporters in attendance. ⸻ 🎫【Match Scene】 ・Kubo started on the bench ・Only played for about 5 minutes at the end of the match ・Although his playing time was short, being able to cheer on the team in person was a valuable experience The enthusiasm and atmosphere of stadiums overseas are powerful in a different way than in Japan. The singing of the supporters, the sense of unity in the local community, and above all, the atmosphere of "soccer being deeply rooted in culture" were impressive. ⸻ 📍【Real Sociedad viewing information】 ・Stadium: Reale Arena (Anoeta) ・Access: Accessible by foot or tram from San Sebastian city center ・There is no Japanese support, so you can use the official app or Google Translate to smoothly arrange tickets ⸻ ⚽️Kubo played few games, but it was only when I came to the site that I realized for the first time that "he is loved in this area." San Sebastian on the Spanish side of the Basque Country is famous for its many Michelin-starred restaurants! If you go there, there's nothing to do but eat! Lol There is a beach 🏖️ though lol There are also bars that are open from the morning lol I start my morning with Basque cheesecake! This is the birthplace of Basque cheese! Of course, it goes well with sparkling wine lol Bar hopping both day and night! There are many small tapas, so it's perfect for eating and drinking! Reale Arena The stadium has a capacity of 32,000 and is the home stadium of Real Sociedad. There are a lot of Japanese tourists because Takefusa Kubo is a member of the team. The stadium is very large, and on game days, the cheers of the fans echo not only inside the stadium but also outside. Monte Igueldo Observatory is located in San Sebastian in the Basque Country in northern Spain, and offers a panoramic view of La Concha Beach and the city of San Sebastian. Gipuzkoa Plaza is a square in San Sebastian, Basque Country, northern Spain! It seems to be a park designed by a French gardener. I was surprised to see swans in the pond. It is a place of relaxation for locals and is very quiet and comfortable! There is a bus to the neighboring town of Hondarribia from the bus stop right in front of the square, so if you have the chance, please stop by the square. The fact that the storm Ciaras prevented us from utilising the exterior facilities and made the hotel's surroundings less pleasant is probably what influenced my star rating. The rooms are superb, with a super king-size bed (you need a taxi to move from one side to the other ;) ), and all amenities needed for a perfect stay. The room was done as expected, but the hotel has no policy not to change towels left on the rack (a clear sign not to replace them). Some signs of wear and tear were visible in general (cracking on the sink, dump signs on the silicon' shower, rust on the shower head), but the overall condition of the room and the hotel in general is great. Coming to the thalassotherapy facilities, there is a set of pools with sea water in the basement. I was expecting the water to be a bit warm, but in fact, the temperature was not agreeable (imho), with windows open with the fresh wind coming in. The sauna was okay, but the steam bath was a bit less, especially considering it was a plastic cabin. There were meant to be other facilities that were apparently out of order.

#sansebastian #Basque San Sebastián is the destination with everything, stunning beach, amazing food, friendly locals, clean and fresh air and great for shopping. Close by to Bilbao, which is also fantastic. We stayed at the Mercure in San Sebastián and in Bilbao, the hotels were both fantastic. Having travelled a lot of Spain, the Basque region of Spain is worth a visit, very different from the south of Spain.

As you may know, San Sebastián is on the northern part of Spain, which is renowned for cheese cake and a rich variety of pintxos. In particular, it is said that cheese cake comes from Basque area, so once I ate these cheese cake in the world’s first restaurant, I realised they were mild and creamy. It means they are the most delicious cake I’ve ever had. Also, this city is quite clean and safe compared to the south part of Spain:) If you like eating, you should go there!! One of my favourite bar is “Bar Sport”!!!(photo No.3) #San Sebastián
