Eibsee Lake Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Jun)
Germany in October
1: Lake Eibsee 2: Saarschleife 3: Bacharach 4: Garmisch-Partenkirchen
Very beautiful places to visit though it might get a little bit cold during this period. Make sure to have your layers ready. An umbrella or waterproof layer could turn out useful as there was quite a lot of rainfall.
The fall foilage were spectacular during this period. Though it was raining, we braved the weather and did a few hikes. As soon as we reached the spots, the skies cleared up a little and we managed to absorb the beauty of it all!
Lake Eibsee, in close proximity to Zugspitze was the most unexpectedly gorgeous spots we visited. Very beautiful trekking paths through the lush plantations and a great view of the mountain reflected on the water body if you find the right spot!

Eibsee Lake
#newyearadventure
Eibsee ("yew lake") is a lake in Bavaria, Germany, 9 km southwest of Garmisch-Partenkirchen and roughly 100 km southwest of Munich. It is 973.28 metres (3,193.2 ft) above sea-level and its surface area is 177.4 hectares (438 acres). It is at the northerly base of the Zugspitze (2,950 metres (9,680 ft) above sea level and 3.5 km to the south), Germany's highest mountain. The lake lies within the municipality of Grainau and is privately-owned.
Directly at the bottom of the Zugspitze, lies one of the most beautiful lakes in the Bavarian Alps - the Eibsee. Formed more than 3000 years ago by a landslide, the mountain lake offers a variety of sporting activities and excursions.
In winter, the Eibsee with its picturesque winter landscape is absolutely worth seeing. The Eibsee circular trail is also passable in winter. In January, the lake is often completely frozen which gives the landscape something magical.
Guten Tag from German Alps 😻
#passionpassport The Bavarian Alps is a must see and easily accessed from Munich. Grainau is located at the foot of the Zugspitze, Germany’s tallest mountain. A bike ride around Eibsee lake is out of this world and you can take a well deserved swim in the crystal clear Alpine waters to cool off. Another must do activity is to take the traditional cog-wheel train or the modern chair lift to the top of Zugspitze - the terrain and views are incredible! #staycation #gooutside #infinitypool #mountainview #germany #travel

Before you should try your first beer and get some classical Bavarian food, it is a must do to walk around this lake next to the highest mountain of Germany!

Zum Franziskaner Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Jun)
Zum Franziskaner
This is family-run Bavarian restaurant specializing in local sausages, with formal & rustic dining rooms. Lovely restaurant with a friendly staff who offered to take pictures for us although the restaurant was very busy.
The food is tasty traditional German food irrigated generously with beer. We ordered the simple German food as we just want to have a quick one.
The place is HUGE! We didn't have a reservation (but I suggest you make one) but we were seated after a short while during Oktoberfest. Very central at Marienplatz
