Famous Salmon Shop in NZ
#traveldiaries #newzealand #newzealand
Many people stop by this salmon farm when they are in New Zealand. The salmon are reared here and you can spot the fish outside the cafe/restaurant. They also have some ducks swimming in the pond. I like the ambience: having fresh salmon while being close to the pond. It helps having good weather!
Besides fresh salmon sashimi, they also sell sushi, pies, burgers and drinks. The fish is really fresh but not cheap imo.
new zealand high country salmon
Everyone knows that there are two must-visit salmon shops in the South Island.
1. Mt Cook Alphine Salmon Shop in Lake Pukaki
2. High Country Salmon near Twizel
I have already shared the former. Those who want to see it can go to my New Zealand collection.
As for High Country Salmon, I will share it now.
It is close to the town of Twizel. If you stay in Twizel for a night, you can definitely come here to buy ingredients. The taste of salmon sashimi is almost the same, both are very sweet! I tell you! You can't go back after eating King Salmon in New Zealand!
Advantages
✅ You can feed salmon for free
✅ There are cooked food
✅ Watch live salmon swim in the glacier water
✅ You can pay the merchant to catch salmon on the spot (30nzd 15 minutes-1 salmon, the price does not include the fish🤣 just for you to experience)
✅ You must bring your children to experience it
✅ There are more choices in the salmon store
Disadvantages
❌ There is no scenery to eat salmon, only the fish pond
❌ The photo-taking and check-in are not very beautiful
If you are driving by yourself, I suggest going to both.
If you bring children, I would recommend Highcountry because it allows children to experience and children can eat cooked food.
If you like taking photos and checking in, I would recommend Mt Cook Alphine Salmon Shop because it is really beautiful there!

Address - Khao Man Kai Ruam Chok Mall, Tang is in the Ruam Chok Mall project.
Atmosphere/Location - This is another recommended chicken rice shop. The taste is good, clean, delicious, and most importantly, they give a lot. This plate of chicken rice with two kinds of chicken costs only 50 baht, which is very filling and delicious. The shop is very clean even though it is a cart shop. The table is clean and the sauce is clean. I recommend it.
