Gallipoli: A Sacred and Historic Journey
#springitinerary
Gallipoli (known as Çanakkale in Turkish) is not just a stunning coastal region in Turkey; it's a place of deep historical significance. Situated along the Dardanelles Strait, Gallipoli is most famous for the Gallipoli Campaign of World War I, a fierce and tragic battle that marked a turning point in both Turkish and world history.
Visiting Gallipoli is an emotional journey. The serene landscapes of rolling hills, dramatic cliffs, and quiet beaches stand in stark contrast to the fierce battles fought here over 100 years ago. The region is home to several war memorials and cemeteries, including the ANZAC Cove memorial, where the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) landed in 1915.
The Gallipoli Peninsula Historical National Park is a must-visit for anyone interested in learning about the brave soldiers who fought here. The park features over 30 memorials dedicated to the fallen soldiers of various nations, and the personal stories of courage, loss, and resilience are etched into the very land.
As you walk through the cemetery at Lone Pine, the Chunuk Bair Memorial, and other sites, you can’t help but feel the weight of history. Gallipoli is not just a war memorial — it’s a place of reflection, remembrance, and respect for those who sacrificed their lives.
Tip: The Gallipoli Campaign Commemorations on April 25 are an emotional and significant event, drawing visitors from around the world.

The Gallipoli Peninsula is located in the southern part of East Thrace, the European part of Turkey, with Aegean Sea to the west, Dardanelles straits to the east, is 283 kilometres away from Istanbul.
ANZAC Cove, the site of the landing of the force. At a place where so much death occurred, nearly half a mile soldiers had been killed or wounded, hence there sadly no shortage of cemeteries and other final resting places you can visit...like Lone Pine.
There's no better way to learn about the past than being in the same exact spot where it all happened described and explained by experience guide from the day tour.

Anzac Cove - Turkey 🇹🇷
Anzac Cove is a popular landmark which you should visit as well as the surroundings if you are in Gallipoli. This landmark is far from the nearest city, you must arrange a private driver to get there. This is a day trip so it is recommended to have a half day available for the tour.
It is a beautiful place with a tragic history behind as there were battles in this site. There is a memorial and a cemetery. There are not restaurants or places to get food so bring your snacks and water. This is an incredible experience for those who love history and culture.
