Fuxin, Liaoning, a great rural vacation spot, Huangjiagou for eco-tourism
In Fuxin, Liaoning, there is a wonderful place for rural vacation tourism, which is Huangjiagou, known as the national eco-cultural village and a key village for rural tourism in the country.
Upon entering Huangjiagou, you first come to Songtao Lake. With a water area of 400,000 square meters, it features nine lakes and twelve bridges that connect two river channels from east to west. Along the shore, there are courtyards of various styles that reflect off the water, creating a harmonious picture. On the lakeside campsite, sky tents and triangular houses provide space for stargazing camping and outdoor self-service barbecues. In the zoo, more than a dozen rare birds and animals such as emus, ostriches, alpacas, deer, and turkeys stroll leisurely.
Dozens of ornamental flowers and plants such as lavender, rapeseed, and sunflowers are planted along the campsite road, including 120 acres of lavender, which is the largest lavender field in Fuxin.
Huangjiagou was once a backward village without even a decent village department. By establishing factories, it achieved 'industrial strengthening of the village.' In 2012, in accordance with national green development and local industrial restructuring requirements, the factory was relocated from the village, and Huangjiagou began its industrial transformation. While developing rural tourism, it utilized the industrial heritage such as factory equipment and workshops. The factory office building was transformed into a hotel, and the foundry workshop became a tourist service center, achieving a 'tourism-enriched village' with a splendid upgrade, receiving more than 800,000 visitors annually. The village built new residential communities and kindergartens, distributed benefits to villagers during festivals, and villagers now live a life more comfortable than city dwellers.
Next to the old factory site, Huangjiagou built a ski resort with 9 standard ski runs, beginner, intermediate, and advanced tracks, and a snowboard park, with a snow tubing track nearly 300 meters long, offering more than thirty non-powered snow activities for visitors to enjoy.
Huangjiagou has used factory facilities to create a unique industrial-themed water park, covering an area of 62,900 square meters, equipped with 12 sets of large water amusement equipment and a national standard swimming pool, perfectly combining the aesthetics of industry with the fun of entertainment.
With spring flower viewing, summer water play, autumn picking, and winter skiing, Huangjiagou combines industrial themes with eco-tourism to create an all-area rural tourism product that integrates ecological leisure, vacation tourism, health and retirement, and urban agriculture. It has become a AAAA-level scenic spot and a popular tourist destination in the western Liaoning and eastern Inner Mongolia regions.
