A small gem to be found !
A nice little gem! This ancient city isn’t as popular as Fenghuang ancient city so there is less tourist. As well since we travelled during low season of course we had even less tourist visiting and was less busy overall. The hospitality in this town was par everyone was super nice and helpful. You have to purchase entrance ticket and hotels can do that for you at a discount so be sure to buy before you get there. Spent a few hours before nightfall and then enjoy the night lights of this town. Views were stunning and just as beautiful if not even better then Fenghuang ancient city. Would definitely visit again and only a short train ride from ZhangJiaJie 20 ish min by high speed train !

Renovate at Furong Town
Location guide: For those who want to get their makeup done and rent costumes for photoshoots, head to Furong shop, located on the left side of the bridge. The makeup artist is excellent, and even though the photographer doesn't speak much, they always show us the poses. We paid 199 yuan and got 50 photos, with 3 edited ones. We are very satisfied with the results; every photo is beautiful. Overall, we are extremely impressed. If you come to Furong Town and want to take photos, we highly recommend this place.
Location: Furong shop, next to the bridge on the left side.

Furong ancient town, Hunan China
Beautiful ancient town in China. expensive entrance ticket that likely would have been worth it if they hadn't canceled the evening show because of a little rain, so check the weather forecast before booking tickets. still missing this place. The ancient city is beautiful and captivating. I want to go again. Just one night may not be enough. The lights are full. The waterfall is beautiful. The food is delicious. There are many good accommodations. The city is beautifully planned. Walk during the day. Come back and rest. Then go again at night. There are shows on the outdoor plaza. Shops, restaurants, and a view of the waterfall at night. It draws the time without realizing it. Just open your heart to China and you will fall in love.

Magical little village
📍芙蓉镇, Furongzhen
Absolutely stunning place to stay for just a night and you will be finished. So cheap and fast to go from zhangjiajie and back on train only around 30 minutes.
If you book a hotel within the village you need to buy a ticket to enter the village on arrival or before you arrive and it is valid to come in and out for 3 days just remember to have it on you at all times, as you need it to enter the performances too which are on at many times expect for when it’s raining, I think there’s 2 stages with different times so please double check. It’s 120 yuans from my memory but we got it for 60 yuans from a student discount.
After the performances you can go to the popular viewing platform, I think most only go there for a day and don’t stay over so there’s not many people crowding the view and you can take pictures. The lights close at midnight so the later the less people.
If your a light sleeper I recommend staying outside the village and the waterfall is super loud everywhere.
There’s also a little museum next to the village that we didn’t know and get a chance to see as it closes at 3pm that you should check out in the morning if you arrive early.

Furong, China
The ancient town of Furong has a waterfall located in the middle of the village, which you can walk behind to cross back and forth. It's beautiful during the day, but at night when the town lights up, it's incredibly picturesque. If you want to take some beautiful photos, I recommend staying overnight. Wake up early when there aren't many people around, and you can take pictures without anyone in them. Getting there is easy; it's a short high-speed train ride from Changsha city, and there's no admission fee.
Furong Zheng, village unique character 👌
Furong Ancient Town is a beautiful little village, the town is more than 2000 years old, located in Hunan Province between Fenghuang and Zhangjiajie

Ancient city of Furongzhen
Furong Town is an ancient town that lies on a river bank that ends with a waterfall. You pay aprox. 13€ for a whole day (and night) entrance, so you can freely walk out and into the town. In the evening, town lights up in neautiful colours and even the waterfal is lit up. There was a show on main square in the evening and even just walking around feels like you have been transported back to history.#trip #Ancient #town #waterfall
Quickly onto most bucket lists - Furongzhen
Furongzhen was as special as originally anticipated after briefing upon some videos. A truly magical location with sceneries in every little nook around town.
It was nice and quiet during November even though the weather was very nice, I can imagine the crowds and buses during peak times, I recommend coming during the lower seasons. The town is close to the high-speed rail system, the accommodations you book online may also have hosts organise a taxi for you!
Note that there is an entry fee to the town regardless if you have accommodation booked, there are also nightly shows that depict the local minority cultures, it's history and some elegant dances.
