Wander Through History in the Enchanting Furong Ancient Town
We took a comfortable high-speed train from Fenghuang to Furong Ancient Town, which cost around 80-100 RMB per person and took about 1.5 to 2 hours. Upon arrival at the Furong station, our homestay host greeted us and escorted us to the town. Since cars aren’t allowed in the town, we stopped at the gates and walked in with our luggage, passing through the developing outskirts filled with construction sites.
Though the surrounding areas were still under development, the town itself was stunning. Furong’s narrow streets were lined with well-preserved traditional architecture, creating a perfect mix of history and beauty. We enjoyed wandering through the picturesque alleys, soaking in the local culture.
Our homestay offered a cozy retreat, blending modern comfort with traditional charm. Despite the town’s ongoing growth, our stay in Furong was a peaceful and memorable experience, surrounded by history and natural beauty.

Miao Elegance: A Glimpse into Fu Rong's Rich Heritage
Renting a traditional Miao attire in Fu Rong Ancient Town was a unique way to immerse myself in the culture. For about 100-150 RMB, I was able to wear the vibrant, intricately embroidered clothing for an hour, with the option to extend for a small additional fee. Dressed in the stunning outfit, I roamed the town at night, capturing photos against the backdrop of glowing lights and ancient architecture.
The experience felt magical as the illuminated streets brought the intricate details of my attire to life. Walking by the glowing waterfalls and lantern-lit canals, I felt like I was part of Fu Rong’s rich history. The photos I took during this unforgettable hour blended tradition with the town's modern charm, creating memories that will last a lifetime.

When Fu Rong Shines: The Beauty of Night Lights
As I waited at the viewing deck, the waterfalls of Fu Rong Town were still and dark, holding their secret until the lights would reveal their beauty. The air was thick with anticipation, and as the first flickers of light appeared, I knew something magical was about to happen.
When the lights finally illuminated the falls, they transformed into a glowing masterpiece. Vibrant colors danced across the cascading water, creating a stunning, almost dreamlike spectacle. I stood there, captivated by the sight, feeling as if time had stopped to let me fully take in the magic of the illuminated waterfalls.

Endless charm .. The real city of waterfalls
Fu Rong, a city created by humans to reduce the impact of water falling from the end. And it is also a city used in filming.
Walking in this city is not as difficult as you think because the city is C-shaped. You can walk from the bridge and down the alley between the buildings to the waterfall escape below.
And when you walk across the river to the other side, you will find a restaurant area. And return to the original side with a stone bridge. It is a very good efficiency for visitors.
💞Reason for recommendation: It would be great if you have time to stay 1 night to see the atmosphere at night.
🗓️Travel planning: Take the high-speed train from Zhangjiajie for 30 minutes, from Fenghuang for 20 minutes.
Accommodation with a view of the waterfall in Fu Rong
#HotelBinding
When anyone comes to Fu Rong, they want to sleep in a place with a good view. 😌 We would like to present two accommodations and a little trick if anyone doesn't want to stay but wants a cool photo angle. 📸
Tuwang Palace Babutang is located at the top of the city. The view is high and beautiful. It is also near the city's viewpoint. It can be said that the view is good both day and night.
Tuwang Palace Waterfall Inn is located at the corner of the waterfall. It can be said that it is the closest accommodation to the waterfall. The view is also full. Listen to the sound of the waterfall all night. 💦
But if anyone can't decide or just stops by ✨ Both accommodations have a different point here. ✨
Babutang has a restaurant. Come and enjoy the night atmosphere here. You can also take beautiful pictures from the central area. I guarantee that the view is awesome.
Waterfall Inn has tea service. You can pay to go take pictures by the waterfall. 👍

The town was most captivating from June to September, and staying overnight allowed me to enjoy the quieter atmosphere and stunning night views.
Furong Town’s blend of history and natural beauty made it an unforgettable experience. I highly recommend a visit.

Furong Ancient Town Two Days and One Night Tour
This time we came to the very famous Furong Ancient Town. The scenery at night is outstanding. All the houses will light up after dark. Walking on the road in Furong Ancient Town is like walking in history. The photos are really great. During the day, I went inside the waterfall to feel its awe. But it is too commercialized now, selling souvenirs and offering costumes for photo taking. #Furong Town #Hunan
Fu Rong Ancient City
#Winter travel destinations Today, I would like to recommend a very beautiful ancient city in China, which is Furong. It is an ancient city not far from Changsha. The atmosphere is very beautiful. I recommend coming from the afternoon until night because the lights are on at night, which is very beautiful. The highlight here is the waterfall. You have to walk a little bit deeper. There is an entrance fee of 108 yuan per person. You can buy it at the entrance. I recommend taking a taxi or didi from the high-speed rail station. It is not very far.
A small gem to be found !
A nice little gem! This ancient city isn’t as popular as Fenghuang ancient city so there is less tourist. As well since we travelled during low season of course we had even less tourist visiting and was less busy overall. The hospitality in this town was par everyone was super nice and helpful. You have to purchase entrance ticket and hotels can do that for you at a discount so be sure to buy before you get there. Spent a few hours before nightfall and then enjoy the night lights of this town. Views were stunning and just as beautiful if not even better then Fenghuang ancient city. Would definitely visit again and only a short train ride from ZhangJiaJie 20 ish min by high speed train !
