Iwaya cave
Two touristy and easily walkable caves can be found in the cliffs along Enoshima's southern coast. The first cave contains some Buddhist statues, while the second cave is dedicated to the legendary dragon that used to terrorize the area.Carved by aeons of tidal erosion, the Iwaya Caves consist of two caves which are 152 meters and 56 meters deep respectively. These caves have long been the subject of religious faith, and during the Edo Period, many worshippers gathered here as a sacred site of the Benzaiten faith. Today, the caves are a popular tourist spot. From the exhibits on display here, visitors can get a sense of how Enoshima’s history and culture have developed over the centuries.
The number 1 spiritual site in Enoshima
The Enoshima Iwaya Caves have been created by coastal erosion for eons of time. It consists of two caves: Daiichi-iwaya (first cave) of 152 meters and Daini-iwaya (second cave) of 56 meters in length. The caves had been closed for years but reopened in 1993 after the renovations of the facilities around the caves. Having been worshiped since ancient times the legends goes that Kukai (Kobo-Daishi, the founder of Shingon Buddhism) and Minamoto no Yoritomo who founded the Kamakura shogunate visited. The insides of these caves with illuminations and sound effects, stone statues and various exhibits tell us the history and culture of Enoshima Island. You can borrow candles inside the Daiichi cave (may not be available when the cave is too crowded) . From open space, stretching 128 meters in length, you can enjoy the vista of Mount Fuji stretching from Sagami Bay, Hakone and the Izu Peninsula. It is a 30-minute walk from ”Katase Enoshima” Station of the Odakyu Enoshima Line.

La Juku
On the last holiday of the consecutive holidays, I decided to go shopping in Fujisawa with my wife, and when I said, "If I go to Fujisawa, I want to eat delicious ramen," my wife searched for a ramen shop. So, today's lunch ramen goes to "La Juku" in Fujisawa City. Apparently, this shop is of Minoru Sano's genealogy. The number of shops for Minoru Sano's apprentices for soy sauce ramen has increased considerably recently. It is said that there are quite a few lines, so we arrived at around 13:30 with a staggered time. The store is closed at 14:00, but it is full. However, I went to the store without waiting too much. My wife ordered soy sauce wonton noodles, and I ordered salt ramen. First of all, soup. It has a gentle taste that feels like chicken oil, and you can feel the richness. The soy sauce ramen also tastes like the Chinese noodles. The noodles are homemade thin noodles straight. It's delicious with the soup. Recommended for those who want to eat delicious salty soy sauce and salt ramen in Fujisawa City. I think it tasted better than the ibis (laughs)
Personal evaluation ★★★ ☆☆

Kanagawa: 1 minute walk from Enoshima station |
Left) purple smoothie (¥ 680)
Right) white smoothie (¥ 680)
A photogenic smoothie that is a waste to drink 🍹
There are only about 6 seats in the store, so I can't stay long 🥺
White smoothie is a taste that contains mango, apple, banana, pine, and chia seeds and is effective for swelling, tired eyes, and lifestyle-related diseases (Popular No. 2 🥈) Is the taste of banana 🍌 the easiest to understand? Sweet and easy to drink ^ _ ^
Purple smoothie contains blueberries, acai, strawberries, bananas and chia seeds and is effective for anti-aging and cancer prevention. (Popular No.1 🥇) The sourness of the berries was good.
The toppings seem to be like a clerk every time 😆 Not only does the smoothie look cute, but the healthy smoothie is inevitably popular 👏
* Closed on Tuesdays
Odakyu Limited Express Romancecar
HAKONE TO SHINJUKU
Our travel agent booked this approx. 1 hr 40 min ride from Hakone to Shinjuku (Tokyo) on the Romancecar. It's not a Shinkansen -- and not romantic in the least -- more of a squeaky rickety train with carpeted floor and poor ventilation. The station in Hakone had a couple of stores and food places where you could grab a snack, use the WC, buy gifts or buy lunch to-go, etc. Impressively, a team of cleaners were standing on the platform so they could hop on board and cleanbefore we boarded -- love the clean aspect of Japan!
ON BOARD EXPERIENCE
Luggage can be placed on the racks above your seat or behind the back seat in the carriage. (I recommend carry-on size throughout Japan for ease of travel). There are coat hooks, blinds to pull down for the sun, reclining seats and a server conveniently comes by with a cart selling drinks and snacks. There are no plugs for charging, so make sure you're fully charged before you get on board. Announcements are in English and Japanese.
NICE VIEWS
Our carriage had a variety of snorers, sneezers, coughing hackers, nose-pickers and food smells, so I can't say it was the best of our train experiences in Japan, but it was clean, on time and got us where we wanted to go. I also enjoyed the views out the window. :) If you found this review useful or informational in any way, please click the 'thank' button. Happy travels!
Side note: We took the bus from our hotel in Hakone to the train station. The luggage storage on the buses is very limited, so again, I recommend you limit the luggage you carry around Japan to carry-on size.

Want to getaway from the hustle and bustle city of Tokyo? You may visit Kamakura and Enoshima Island, an hour and 15 minutes away. Make sure to also get a Kamakura Enoshima Free Pass (1520yen) for unlimited train rides in designated areas. Will go back to explore more of the area soon. #happynewyear #kamakura #enoshima #wandermye #kotokuin

We visited as we wanted to get to the top of the island and also go to the caves and this was on the way up so we had a good look around. It is a lovely walk from Enoshima across a bridge that is around 1/2 km. We had a great view of Mt. Fuji on our journey and the lovely beach as well. Once you reach the island then the hiking begins. This is not for anyone who has health issues that may prevent them from walking up many, many flights of stairs. We purchased passes for the escalator system that will allow you to skip the difficult part of the hike but be aware that there is still many more flights of stairs to conquer to reach the destination. It is very beautiful and well worth the work to reach it. Not too many crowds on a weekday. The view from the top is breathtaking with Mt. Fuji looming in the distance and sea hawks flying all around (beware if you are eating outdoors as they do prey on tourists and locals alike and will steal your food from you and possibly injure you). I would absolutely make the journey again if I have the opportunity.
