The changing British coastline
Flamborough Head on the Yorkshire coastline is ever changing due to its rapid rates of erosion but this fascinating area is well worth a visit. Walking a long the edges of the cliff you can see the impact that storms and waves have created with wave cut platforms, caves, sea stacks and arches littering the coastline. Not only that nature lovers will also get the chance to view and abundance of sea birds lining the cliffs #cliffs
Tranquil Escape to Selwicks Bay Beach 🌊🏖️
Spent a blissful day at Selwicks Bay Beach, a hidden coastal treasure nestled on the Yorkshire coastline. The beach, accessible via a scenic walk from the nearby cliffs, offered a perfect blend of natural beauty and tranquility.
The golden sands and clear, turquoise waters created a picturesque setting for a relaxing day. The gentle sound of waves lapping against the shore and the distant calls of seabirds added to the serene atmosphere. I enjoyed a leisurely stroll along the beach, taking in the stunning views of the rugged cliffs that frame the bay.
Selwicks Bay Beach is also great for exploring. I wandered through the rock pools, discovering small marine creatures and admiring the unique rock formations. The beach’s relatively secluded location made it an ideal spot for a quiet picnic away from the crowds.
With its natural charm and peaceful ambiance, Selwicks Bay Beach is a perfect destination for those looking to escape into nature and enjoy a tranquil day by the sea. 🌅🏝️🌿
Pirates Bay 🇬🇧 Flambrough
At Thornwick bay in Flambrough you'll find the perfect cove to escape the windy eastern UK cliffs.
The cove has a retired RNLI slope and outhouse and it's history is clear to see.
The summer nights are bright till late and the sky's are like a painting.
I'd highly recommend the area with lots of pubs, campsites and restaurants. For a full roast dinner the 'Seabirds' restaurant has a fantastic lunchtime offering.
The haven holiday park just down the road has a swimming pool, late night and children's entertainment, a little supermarket and a lovely bar with outside decking and playground for children.
