Fethiye deserves some more of the limelight on places to visit in Turkey. The waters are warm, the scenery is spectacular and there are no shortage of water sports and island tours all within close proximity.
And did I say scenery?
-breakfast views of the ocean
-mountainous surrounds
-heavenly sunsets
I travelled here with my husband and it made for one of the most romantic destinations we’ve been to!
Getting around - minibuses and the yellow taksi, plus buses going to most major destinations from the bus station in the city center
Attractions - Oludeniz, 12 islands cruise, paragliding (and loads more)
Hotels - stunning hotels along the Fethiye port with breathtaking views at breakfast. If you’re into something a little more adventurous, there are beautiful camping spots with luxury tents about 20-30 minutes from the Port
Food & Restaurants - Turkish, western and even Chinese food on/ close to Ataturk Cd.
There are even cute cafes and colorful markets if you walk a little further

Postcard-worthy views of Fethiye, Turkey.
We’ve heard a lot about #fethiye in #turkey and I must say it’s definitely worth a visit. Fethiye is one of the #holiday resorts of Turkey. With its postcard-worthy backdrop of golden #sands, forested #mountains, and miles of azure ocean, it's no surprise that Fethiye is among the most-visited cruise ports on Turquoise coast.

RELAX, REFRESH, AND RECHARGE…FINALLY!
There’s seriously no better way to actually vacation than on a boat! Turn off your phone, connect with nature, finally finish that book, and just BE for a full week... This is the kind of trip you’ve always dreamed of taking, but never really figured out how to achieve on your own. (Aka- it is not the kind of vacation that you need a vacation from as soon as you get back home!)
Speaking of relaxation, going to sleep and waking on up the water is something truly special. After our sailing trip last year, that was our #1 highlight and this year we would have to agree. There’s nothing quite like waking up to these kinds of views first thing in the morning. We fell in love with boat life last year when we sailed through the Greek Isles with Yacht Getaways, and it was no different this year!

Turkey’s rugged coastline
Sailing with Yacht Getaways is such a cool way to get to meet new people. The boat is big enough be comfortable for everyone (it is 45ft long), but small enough to allow you to get to know each person that is on the boat. There are four double ensuite cabins for the guests as well as the captain and host on board, so it sleeps 10 people in total. And along with sailing together, you also have breakfast and lunch together each day on the boat. By the end of the week you’re guaranteed to leave with 9 new friends and tons of amazing memories to share!
One of our favorite memories from our sailing trip was the day we got to go paragliding over Ölüdeniz beach!!! Jumping off of a mountain and soaring high over these azure blue waters was one of those once in a lifetime opportunities that we knew we couldn’t pass up, and we are so happy that we did it. What an adventure!

Paragliding is one of Fethiye's signature must-have projects. It starts from the top of the hill near Oludeniz and rides on the wind with a U-shaped umbrella. It swims across the sea and has a stunning view.
bus pulls up the mountain, all the way to the winding road, the number on the road to learn the coach to follow, relax the mind, together with the run-off, enjoy the fun of the Mediterranean flying, the panoramic view, landing smooth.
From the seaside slopes, the coach jumped down and glided in the air. The beauty of Fethiye was unobstructed at the foot. It was really exciting, and it was definitely an unforgettable experience.
came to the top of the mountain, it is already the time when the sun is setting, some different scenery. The feeling of "flying" in the sky is unbeatable!
YTurkish Boheme HOTEL
Interestingly, when we booked online one month in advance, the hotel was able to settle according to the lira, and as a result we went to catch the lira crash, so the last hotel When you settle the bill, you can directly use the Euro~ exchange rate to bring the wool is not a slap on it~ I really bought it without selling it! I have seen Nim Liansen on the wall of the hotel. There is also a bunch of Chinese stars, think about it carefully, ah, it should be the Zhejiang TV "24 Hours" that the show came to Turkey when the stars stayed at the hotel, but we did not know when booking, it is an accident Small surprise

Romantic Turkey|Being carried into the sky in Fethiye, it's surprisingly enjoyable!🪂
🤔If I were to recommend an extreme sport to those who love freedom and romance, I would have to shout: 'Go paragliding🪂, go up into the sky, feel the wind, scream at the top of your lungs, and overlook all the tiny things!'👏🏻🌟
🤩Yes, my first paragliding experience was during this trip to Fethiye, Turkey. This sport seems to have a bit of heart-pounding excitement and romance. Once you try it, you'll fall in love with it deeply!💙
🌟About Paragliding in Fethiye
📰There are three major paragliding paradises in the world: Pokhara in Nepal, Fethiye in Turkey, and the French Alps.
📍In Fethiye, Turkey🪂, whether it's the stunning Mediterranean scenery or the particularly friendly and stable weather conditions, it's suitable for paragliding enthusiasts of all levels. In Fethiye, Turkey, paragliding is no longer an 'extreme sport'; it's an enjoyment, enjoying the beautiful scenery of both mountains and sea, and soaring over the magnificent Mediterranean coastline and Blue Lagoon.
📌Fethiye Paragliding TIPS✨
1️⃣The price of paragliding varies by season, averaging around 200 USD, excluding photography and video. Photography costs an additional 40 USD, which I personally think is a must. The coach will record videos and take photos for you throughout the process, and you'll get all the raw files. They will be sent directly to your app and phone upon landing.
2️⃣When choosing a paragliding company, ensure that the coach has professional qualifications, there are no language barriers, and the safety of the takeoff and landing sites is crucial. Although there are some minor price differences, the prices are generally uniform. Remember to ask in advance what services are included, such as transportation, photos, and videos. We chose Liberty.Fethiye, which you can refer to.
3️⃣For attire, wear light clothing (sportswear is best) and sports shoes (sandals and slippers are prohibited). Do not wear any accessories, and sports sunglasses are a must.
4️⃣The takeoff time depends on the wind direction and weather conditions of the day, so you need to communicate with the paragliding company at all times.
5️⃣Ordinary tourists will have one parachute with one coach. Just follow the coach's instructions and commands, no need to worry too much!
I fly.
2000 meters above the sky, waiting for the wind...
I won't forget the wind at this moment
I won't forget the feeling at this moment
I won't forget the moment I ran out and jumped
The wind gently swept across my face.
📍 Attraction address: Fethiye, a city in Muğla Province, Aegean Region, Turkey. Located in a small town on the Mediterranean coast of southern Turkey, Fethiye is not only a famous historical city but also a great place for vacation. Every October, the paragliding resort of Ölüdeniz in Fethiye hosts the World International Flying Competition - Ölüdeniz Air Games, attracting a large number of paragliding enthusiasts to participate.
🚗 Attraction transportation: Fethiye has an important port. Dalaman International Airport in Turkey is the gateway for international tourists to visit Fethiye. The Fethiye government is actively promoting direct flights between Dalaman, Turkey and Chengdu, China.
👍️ Must-visit attractions: Fethiye is a coastal tourist city adjacent to the Mediterranean Sea. As one of the most famous tourist attractions in Turkey, it boasts the most famous "natural seawater bathing area" in the southeast and a seaside resort. There are many small islands scattered in the bay at the pier in the bay.
Fethiye's "Blue Lagoon (lüdeniz)" is known as "God's Gift to the World" and is considered one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, with light blue, dark blue, light green, and dark green waters. Kdrak Beach has beaches, seawater, and pine trees. From June to September each year.
Butterfly Valley (Kelebekler Valley) will be surrounded by butterflies called "Jarsey Tiger".
Fethiye Museum, where you can overlook the entire Fethiye. The tombs carved into the cliffs around the town are Lycian remains from the pre-Roman period.
🎟️ Ticket information: Fethiye paragliding costs RMB 800.
Accommodation: There are many hotels around Fethiye Town, Butterfly Valley, etc.
💗 Other tips: Fethiye has three major paragliding companies: Gravity, Hector, and Reaction. There are many flight instructors. If you want to experience paragliding, you must first sign a "life and death agreement". So if you want to play, make up your mind before you jump. Before skydiving, each friend must first sign a skydiving activity agreement, which includes the skydiver's basic information, physical condition statement, and liability statement. This is simply a "life and death agreement"! In fact, although such a serious statement is signed, it is still very safe. Paragliding usually takes about 40 minutes in the air.
Food: Fethiye is dominated by fish as the most common cooking ingredient, combined with herbs and vegetables from the Aegean and Mediterranean regions for a unique flavor. Local chefs often use herbs, wild mountain delicacies, and onions to stir-fry, then season with tomato sauce and pepper. At the Balikpazan Fish Market, you can buy a variety of seafood and ask the restaurant to cook it for you. In the Paspatur market, there are many fish and grilled meat restaurants where you can enjoy delicious food while admiring the surrounding scenery.
Travel to the beautiful city of fethiye
Turkey Fethiye → The best place in the world for you to soar in the sky and dive into the sea
Turkey 🇹🇷 Fethiye, located 135 kilometers southeast of Marmaris, has an important pier at the end of the bay, with many small islands scattered within the bay. At the top of a small hill, there are remains of a fortress from the Crusades, offering a panoramic view of Fethiye.
Global tourists come here mainly for skydiving and swimming in the Dead Sea.
Speaking of the Dead Sea, everyone must think of the one near Israel, which has no life due to excessive sea salt and can make the human body float on the surface. Actually, Turkey also has a Dead Sea! The southern part of Turkey has a long and winding coastline. Near the ancient town of Fethiye, the coastline curves into a large bay. Here, the waters are calm, peaceful, and serene. This place is known as Turkey's Dead Sea, also called the 'Water Wealth'.
Legend has it that in ancient times, ships sailing on the high seas would pass by this place. The handsome son of an old captain took a small boat here to fetch water and met a beautiful girl named Besak, falling in love with her. One day, the ship encountered a storm. The young man told his father that there was a harbor to shelter from the wind, but the father thought he just wanted to see the girl and didn't really care if the ship would sink. They argued, and the father accidentally knocked his son into the sea. When the father regained his senses and calm, he found himself in a calm harbor. He realized his son was telling the truth, but it was too late. His handsome son had died, and the beautiful girl, upon learning this, was heartbroken and jumped off a cliff to her death. From that day on, this calm harbor began to change its water color constantly to commemorate the young couple. The Dead Sea got its name from this tragic love story.
Now, Turkey's Dead Sea has become the most famous natural seawater bathing place and seaside resort in southeastern Turkey. It is especially worth mentioning the paragliding here. From the high mountains of 1300 meters to 2000 meters, you can glide with the unique U-shaped parachute of the Dead Sea, accompanied by white clouds and seabirds, overlooking the entire Dead Sea. It's fresh and exciting!
I declare that the most beautiful highway in Turkey is none other than D400
This time, we have arrived in the blue Turkey❗️
If you ask me which part of this trip to Turkey left the deepest impression, it would be the D400 coastal highway, which I can even say is a 'once in a lifetime' experience in my heart🌊
▫️
✨The D400 coastal highway starts from Osmaniye and ends in Mugla. The section between Antalya and Fethiye is half mountain and half sea, truly beautiful to the point of tears.
▫️
📍Kaputas Beach
This beach is the hallmark of D400 and the most coveted beach for tourists from all over the world. The water is clear, the sand is fine, the sky is blue, and the sea is azure. Any beautiful words to describe this beach are not an exaggeration.
There are several photo spots on the beach:
1⃣️Cliff Boulder: Located in the parking area by the road, here you can take a standard 'ID photo' with the sprawling beach.
2⃣️Wooden Walkway: Walk down the walkway, and the corner is the best spot to admire the beach!
3⃣️White Sand Beach: The sand is relatively coarse, but any casual shot here is a masterpiece.
▫️
📍Cayagzi Youlu Beach
Compared to Kaputas, this beach has far fewer people. When we went, there was actually no one!
It was probably because it was the off-season. The pavilions by the sea were all closed, and all the sun umbrellas were put away. However, the driver said that come May, it will be a completely different scene.
▫️
📍Kas Town
A small and beautiful town located on the D400 coastal highway. A walk around the town takes about half an hour. The pace of life in the town is very slow, perfect for relaxing and daydreaming.
If you have enough time, you can stay in the town for a few more days to experience the leisurely life of the locals.
In the summer, you can participate in various island-hopping tours here, which should be a very interesting experience!
▫️
📍Kidrak Beach
This beach is not large, but it has distinctly layered seawater in deep blue, lake blue, and mint blue. The jelly-like clear sea makes people feel refreshed. Sitting by the sea and listening to the sound of the waves can make you forget the time.
▫️
📍Butterfly Valley
There are two ways to visit Butterfly Valley. One is to join an island-hopping tour and take a boat to the beach; the other is to walk down the mountain path, through rugged trails, many sections of which require both hands and feet.
Both ways have their pros and cons, and you can enjoy completely different scenery. For those who prefer a lazy tour, taking a boat is recommended. For those who like hiking, you can consider walking the trail.

Turkey's Nautical Hotel: A Cliffside Paradise
A hotel that I dream of visiting in my lifetime. In one word: stunning! The Nautical Hotel (Naval Hotel), nestled on the coast near Fethiye, is a serene escape from the tourist crowds. The surroundings are so stunningly picturesque (I cherish it deeply, my dear friends, who can relate?)
Transportation-wise: You can arrange a taxi, and the driver will assist you in contacting the hotel. Upon arrival, disembark at the road outside the hotel, and the hotel staff will greet you with a small pickup truck. The path to the hotel is winding and rustic, offering a sense of adventure. Upon departure, the hotel will arrange a taxi to meet you at the roadside. While reaching the hotel might be a bit of a challenge, the breathtaking views and serene environment make it all worthwhile! During our stay, we were even lucky enough to witness a charming proposal by a handsome foreign couple along the hotel's coastline.
Note: This hotel is ideal for relaxation, daydreaming, and unwinding. If you're interested in activities like paragliding, island-hopping, or beach relaxation, it's better to stay closer to Lüdeniz beach. The Nautical Hotel is less convenient for frequent travel.
In summary: It's truly, truly beautiful, my dear friends.
The highly requested detailed guide for a self-drive car rental on Turkey's D400 highway
The promised guide for a self-drive on Turkey's D400 is here❗️
I enjoyed the beautiful scenery along the D400 in the past few days, the Mediterranean is just too beautiful!
Many people asked for car rental tips and things to note for self-driving⚠️
👇I'll share the details in this guide, I suggest reading and memorizing the whole text❗️
1️⃣Car Rental
🔸I booked online in advance, you can use any domestic platform
🔸Passport, domestic driver's license, translated driver's license, foreign currency credit card
🔸Manual transmission is cheaper, returning the car in a different location is more expensive, we paid 550 (including insurance) for 3 days💰
2️⃣Pick-up and Return
🔸The distance from Antalya to Fethiye is not far, we chose Antalya Airport for pick-up and return, saving about ¥1000 on the fee for returning the car elsewhere
🔸When picking up the car, check the fuel level, take a video of the car body, and confirm the condition of the car
🔸When returning the car, refill the fuel to the same level, and hand over the car after confirming there are no issues on the spot
🔸The car rental company offers a 🆓 ride to the airport
3️⃣Parking and Refueling
🔸Most of the attractions along the D400 offer free parking
🔸Search for 'otopark' for parking lots
🔸There are many gas stations, our total fuel cost was 400💰
🔸Full-service refueling, cash and credit cards are both accepted🉑, and they even clean your car for free
4️⃣Driving Safety
🔸Common signs are seen
🔸No right turn on red❗️This is different from domestic rules
🔸There are many bends on the mountain roads from Ölüdeniz to Kaş, and Antalya is prone to traffic jams due to heavy traffic
5️⃣Self-Drive Route
🔸Counterclockwise is closer to the sea:
Fethiye-Kalkan-Finike-Kaş-Antalya
🔸Our route:
▪️D1 Pick up car in Antalya-Aspendos Ancient Theatre-Xanthos Ancient City, Temple of Apollo-🏨Kaş

Fethiye: the starting of the Lycian trail
We came to Fethiye from Kas to spend our weekend. The road took us 1,5 hour.
First thing we did was great big Turkish breakfast, which cost us twice cheaper than it would in Kas. There is a long promenade along the sea, cost with great variety of restaurants and cafés, so we chose on of them and it was good.
Later we walked towards the marine, the antic theater was on reconstruction so we couldn’t see much of it. Next to the ancient theater there is way up, which is also a starting off the ancient Lycian way to Antalya. By following this road, you can get to the ancient tombs, they are also called Tom of Amyntas and they definitely worse visiting.#turkiye #trip #fethiye #Ancient tombs
