All Moments About Enoshima
[Mount Fuji as seen from Enoshima]
#DomesticTravelTactics
I recently visited Enoshima for the first time in several years.
On that day, the winter air in Enoshima was dry, so Mt. Fuji could be clearly seen in the distance, and I was able to show this quintessentially Japanese view to my friend who was visiting from overseas.
Mt. Fuji evokes special feelings for Japanese people.
It stands out against the blue sky because there are no mountains of a similar height around it.
Enoshima was sparsely populated in the morning, but as it got closer to noon, the narrow island road became crowded with many day-trippers. It's easier to walk here with fewer people, so if you don't like crowds, it's best to go in the morning if possible.
💰Price per person: There is no entrance fee to Enoshima. You can enjoy a stroll for free.
🏖️Atmosphere/Facilities: There is a steel tower for a lookout point about halfway up the island. There is a fee to climb it, but it's not too far to the base, so it's worth checking out. The illuminated garden is also open to the public free of charge during the day.
Enoshima Sea Candle
✨ The night view of Enoshima Sea Candle was so magical...! ✨
The moment it was lit up, the entire area was enveloped in blue light, making it feel like being underwater 🌊💙
The daytime scenery is beautiful too, but at night it transforms into a completely different world. The photos don't do it justice, it was so moving!
You might need a ticket to go up the lighthouse, so check as soon as you arrive ✔️ I got my ticket and was able to go up the lighthouse about an hour later by elevator. The wait time was enjoyable with the illuminations, so I didn't get bored at all ✨
📅 Event period: Until February 28, 2025
💡 Lighting hours: Weekdays 17:00-20:00 (last entry 19:30)
Weekends and holidays 17:00-21:00 (last entry 20:30)
🎫 Tip: The Enoshima 1-day pass (1,500 yen) is recommended!
You can buy it at the tourist information center near Enoshima Station or online.
[Kamakura in winter] One day sightseeing: From Enoshima to Mt. Fuji
Winter sightseeing in Kamakura, to Enoshima...
Pay attention to the stop sign right after getting off the Enoshima Electric Railway at Enoshima Station! !
A small bird object installed in front of Enoshima Electric Railway Enoshima Station
I always take pictures of this when I come here.
There was a crowd, so I took a closer look...
Isn't he wearing a hand-knitted conductor's uniform? 😍
So cute~💕💕
This is a popular photo spot.
After looking it up, I found out that
it's nickname is "Enopico."
A female employee at the station shop started putting it on him because "he looks cold,"
and it's been passed down for over 20 years.
Benten Bridge, the gateway to Enoshima
Next to Benten Bridge is the Enoshima Ohashi Bridge, which is for cars only, and is closed to traffic at night.
This bridge was built when Enoshima Port was constructed for the yachting competition during the Tokyo Olympics.
You can see the sunset from the bridge, and if you're lucky, Mt. Fuji.
The wind was quite strong that day, but we could see Mt. Fuji clearly.

[Power Spot] The cave where the dragon god legend remains! Enoshima Cave
#DomesticTravelRecordLine
Enoshima Iwaya is a sea cave located at the innermost part of the island. It is said that Kobo Daishi also practiced here in the past. It is the birthplace of Enoshima faith. Inside the cave, it is very cool and the heat outside seems like a lie. There is also a hole that is rumored to be connected to the Narusawa Ice Cave! Dragon objects are displayed because of the legend of the heavenly maiden and the dragon god. If you come to Enoshima, you must go there! That is the mysterious cave "Enoshima Iwaya" created by the erosion of waves. Illuminated by candlelight, the inside of the cave is like another world. The sound of the waves echoing in the silence and the stone Buddha statues that have a sense of history create a mysterious atmosphere. The first cave is 152m deep! There is also a romantic legend that it leads to the ice cave of Mt. Fuji. The second cave is the place of the dragon god legend. You can experience the mysterious atmosphere where the dragon god resides.
It is also famous as the most powerful spot in Enoshima, so it is a great place to make a wish or take the time to reflect on yourself 🥺

Enoshima Electric Railway Bus Trip
#BusTrip2024
I took the Enoshima Electric Railway bus F3 to Enoshima.
The entire island of Enoshima can be said to be a power spot. The main tourist spot is Enoshima Shrine, where the three goddess sisters are enshrined, but there is also Enoshima Samuel Cocking Garden, where the Enoshima Sea Candle (observation lighthouse) stands, and Enoshima Yacht Harbor.
There are also many restaurants that serve dishes using local fish, such as "Kamaage Shirasu Donburi" (boiled whitebait rice bowl) and "Koya no Makanai Donburi" (a rice bowl topped with several types of fresh fish). I also recommend the Shin-Enoshima Aquarium!!
