Shangri-La Old Town is a beautiful place that I really enjoyed. The shops have unique designs and offer many different things to buy. There are also lots of food choices, which makes it great for dinner time. The best part was joining the local people in their traditional dancing—it was so much fun! There's also a temple on top of a hill. Climbing up can make you tired very quickly because of the high altitude, but when you reach the top, the view is worth it. The cool breeze and beautiful night lighting create a magical atmosphere. The sound of Tibetan Buddhist chanting fills the air, making the place hard to forget and leaving a deep impression on your heart. This was one of the best memories I had in Shangri-La.

20240309 Entered the Shangri-la Duke of Zong Ancient City (香格里拉 独克宗古城) The kids going ahead are pretty. It's hard to get there with just the address. The expensive taxi asked for 15 yuan, but I lowered it to 10 yuan. When I got off and called the hotel, they were just talking nonsense. I called the people around me and they said they would pick me up. The people who picked me up were those kids. I followed them around and saw how pretty they were… When I entered the hotel, it was noisy and I looked around. It was full of families, and they were wearing clothes and putting on makeup. The men were checking their hands in every nook and cranny… I'm jealous! This is how we live, living in a haphazard manner.. The siblings are the main characters, the couple and their children are the sisters-in-law and the brothers-in-law are the brothers-in-law. After putting down my backpack and looking around, the people wearing ethnic minority costumes are tourists, and the people without are Shangri-la. We also got dressed up. Since I am a traveler. We even put on makeup. It cost 68 won for two people. We bargained and called for 130 won. Now we walk around the castle. All the buildings are wooden. Even the newly built and repaired ones are all wooden. Each and every pattern carved on the doors is delicate and looks like a work of art. If only this place was a little closer to the world... The whole city is filled with souvenirs and restaurants. The square is filled with statues telling the past. It was an important strategic point in the tea horse road and was on the Chinese Communist Party's Great Long March. There is also a canine called Chow Chow that I saw for the first time.
