The entrance fee was £11.50, and it was worth every penny! 🌿🏠 Stepping into the house, it felt like stepping back in time. The rooms are beautifully preserved, and you can see Darwin's study where he wrote "On the Origin of Species." It's fascinating to walk through his personal space and get a glimpse of his daily life. 📚🔬 The garden was a highlight for me. It's lush and well-maintained, and knowing that Darwin himself conducted many of his experiments here made it even more special. I spent a good hour just wandering around, enjoying the peace and tranquility. 🌸🦋 Nearby, you can explore the charming village of Downe, which has some lovely pubs and cafes. If you have time, a visit to the nearby High Elms Country Park is also recommended for a relaxing nature walk. 🌳🍃 Down House also offers interactive exhibits and a detailed audio guide, which provides great insights into Darwin's work and family life.
