Niufo Ancient Town in Zigong

A very charming ancient town, home to three 'provincial-level protected' sites: Hele Hall, Zhonghe Hao, and Da'an Wanshou Palace. The local specialty 'Niufo Steamed Basket' is also a must-try. Hele Hall was built during the Qing Dynasty, with a mansion-style brick archway as its main entrance, surrounded by Sichuan-style horse-head walls in Jiangxi style, which are quite spectacular. The architecture consists of an entrance hall, main hall, and wing rooms, and it has now been opened as a local cultural venue. Zhonghe Hao was built in the first year of the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty, a complete Qing Dynasty residential building. Currently, Zhonghe Hao is the site of the Niufo Town Xiaguang Kindergarten, privately owned. In February 1999, it was sold to a private individual by the former Niufu Town People's Government of Fushun County and is not open to the public. Da'an Wanshou Palace was funded and built by Jiangxi merchants during the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty, with surrounding gable walls and triple-eaved horse-head walls symmetrically arranged on both sides of the hall.
