Wuxie Chan Temple, located in the heart of Zhuji Wuxie Scenic Area

Wuxie Chan Temple is situated in the core area of the Wuxie Scenic Area in Zhuji, Zhejiang Province. Originally built in 808 AD during the Tang Dynasty, it was first named "Sanxue Chan Monastery," later renamed "Wuxie Yongan Chan Temple," and is now known as "Wuxie Chan Temple." The temple is backed by Qizhen Rock, with the five-tiered waterfall to the northwest. In front lies the temple's forecourt, where a stream flows gently. Surrounding the temple are rolling peaks, towering ginkgo trees, and lush bamboo groves. Many of the existing buildings within the temple date back to the Ming and Qing dynasties, including the mountain gate, the Hall of Heavenly Kings, and the Mahavira Hall. Two stone sculptures of a green lion and a white elephant stand in the forecourt, said to have been transformed from the chanting of Chan Master Lingmo. A thousand-year-old ginkgo tree, planted by Master Lingmo, also graces the temple grounds. Wuxie Chan Temple is a renowned ancient temple in central Zhejiang, attracting numerous worshippers and serving as an important site for the Caodong School of Buddhism.
