Doumen Jintai Temple - A Worthwhile Place to Visit with a Panoramic Lake View

Last month, I went on a free day trip to Zhuhai with some Buddhist friends, and one of the places we visited was the Jintai Temple. Initially, I thought it was just an ordinary temple, but later I discovered that this temple is built around a mountain and consists of several parts. Jintai Temple was first built at the end of the Song Dynasty and the beginning of the Yuan Dynasty, with a history of about 700 years. The temple includes the Mahavira Hall, the Hall of Heavenly Kings, the Sutra Library, the Bell and Drum Tower, the Grand Mountain Gate, the Merit Hall, and more. Today, it is the top of the eight scenic spots of Huangyang Mountain and a major religious tourist attraction. The temple gate is at the foot of the mountain, and along the winding road, there are large trees with beautiful scenery. After walking for about 20-30 minutes, you will see the Guanyin statue and the first temple. Then, after walking for another 10 minutes, you will see the stairs leading up to the Mahavira Hall and other halls. This is also the middle part of the mountain top where you can enjoy a panoramic view of Doumen city and the lake. Finally, climb a few more flights of stairs to reach the top-level Peacock Mingwang Buddha Mother Hall (highly recommended). The Peacock Mingwang Buddha inside the hall is incredibly beautiful. Warm Tip: If you are traveling with elderly people, it is recommended to rent a small car to go up the mountain and use a hiking stick for easier access.
