Traveling with kids to Chimelong Zhuhai, a relaxed travel guide (part one)

Where is a good place to travel with kids? We've already explored every corner near our home, and the internet-famous spots are only suitable for young people, while Fantawild is not suitable for small children, and going abroad is too tiring. For those with kids, Chimelong and Disney are undoubtedly the top choices, but this trip also has another destination—Macau, which naturally makes Chimelong Zhuhai an essential stop on our journey. : Choosing the best time for a relaxed trip Chimelong is always a paradise for kids on weekends and holidays, crowded with people. During these times, most of the trip to Chimelong is wasted in the crowds and queues, resulting in a poor experience and exhaustion. Therefore, we decided to stay and travel on the Wednesday before the May Day holiday, and this trip confirmed that our choice was correct. : Hotel selection There are many hotels to choose from near the entrance of Chimelong, and those with kids can choose nearby options such as the Chimelong Penguin Hotel Zhuhai, Hengqin Bay Hotel, Chimelong Ocean Kingdom Hotel, Zhuhai Chimelong Airship Hotel, Changlv Ship Hotel, etc., which are naturally more expensive. About 2 kilometers away from the scenic area, Hengqin Town Hengqin Town Park Green Space gathers more affordable hotels and homestays. A bit further away, about 5 kilometers near Hengqin Station and about 10 kilometers near Hengqin North Station, there are even more hotels and apartments to choose from. Any further and you'll be leaving the island to the Zhuhai city area. : Pricing After comparing various combinations and choosing hotels on our own, it turns out that package deals are the most cost-effective. We booked the Penguin Hotel for two days and one night with a buffet lunch for 2138 yuan, which included unlimited trips to Chimelong for two days and a family room in a theme hotel for one night. I strongly recommend visiting Chimelong from Monday to Wednesday when there are fewer people and relatively lower prices. Starting from Thursday to Sunday, the price of Chimelong packages begins to rise, and even the prices of hotels in Zhuhai will increase. If sisters are taking kindergarten kids, it's better to go on weekdays; : Hotel buffet The buffet at the Penguin Restaurant is quite rich with a variety of options. I suggest that if you're going for lunch, queue up around 11 am, and if it's for dinner, around 5 pm. There are a lot of people, and the kids are especially curious about the penguins. The restaurant is really a great place for taking photos with kids; : Why choose the Penguin Hotel The primary reason for choosing the Penguin Hotel is that it's only about a five-minute walk from the hotel to the park, which is very convenient. It's truly convenient for those with kids, and you can even go back to the hotel for a nap at noon to recharge and then continue playing until the evening, which is most enjoyable. The hotel is clean and hygienic, and full of penguin elements, which the kids love the most. : Park opening hours The park is open from 10 am to 10 pm; : Transportation The closest station to the park is Zhuhai Chimelong Station. It's about 600 meters walk from the station to the hotel. You can take an intercity train directly to Zhuhai Chimelong Station from Zhuhai Station in less than 20 minutes, with a ticket price of about 11 yuan per person. You can also take a taxi to the Penguin Hotel for about 70 yuan. If there are four people traveling together, the taxi fare is an average of 17.5 yuan per person, which is very affordable.
