The curious brown panda

At the Foping Panda Base, we learned that there are not only one species of pandas in China, but the Qinling panda and the Sichuan panda belong to two different groups. The Qinling panda is older and more primitive than the Sichuan panda. They may have been a family 300,000 years ago, but now they each have their own genetic system. The Qinling panda is more like a cat, with a rounder face, shorter mouth, smaller ears and head, and is cuter 😊. These national treasures are more precious and are not allowed to be rented out. They only live in the Qinling Mountains. During our stay in Zhouzhi, we were informed by the enthusiastic waiter that there is a rare brown panda in the Qinling Four Treasures Science Park, so we added a project to our itinerary: Qinling Four Treasures Science Park. The Qinling Four Treasures Science Park is the only rare wild animal protection base in Shaanxi Province and is a modern park integrating culture, science, education, and tourism. In the park, there are not only the four treasures of Qinling (pandas, crested ibis, golden monkeys, antelopes), but also red pandas, black bears, small deer, gazelles, golden eagles, long-eared owls, eagle owls, red falcons, vultures, red-bellied pheasants and other rare wild animals in the Qinling area. Compared with the pandas we saw in Foping, we saw more Qinling pandas in this park. There are not only adult pandas here, but also panda cubs, and the world's only captive brown panda-'Qi Zai'.
