Putuo Mountain's new cultural landscape symbolizes the Buddhist realm between heaven and earth. The Guanyin belief of 'A thousand prayers, a thousand responses, the sea of suffering always serves as a boat for the crosser' is well-known among the Chinese nation and has a profound influence. The Putuo Mountain Buddhist Association, in order to honor the holy virtues of the Bodhisattva and promote the teachings of the great sage, widely accepts opinions and initiated the construction of the South Sea Guanyin outdoor statue, so that all beings may gaze upon it, receive blessings, and attain great auspiciousness.
