There is an intercity railway Guzhen Station next to the hotel, which is convenient even if you don’t drive. The Westin Hotel is also the tallest building in Zhongshan, over 300 meters high. It stands out among the low-rise buildings surrounding it. The hotel was designed by Shenzhen Yang Bangsheng team. YANG's works include Raffles Shenzhen and the soon-to-open Hyatt Collection Chengdu Langpo. The overall design of the hotel maintains the natural and leisure brand characteristics of WESTIN. Through the mutual reflection of light, stone and color, a fresh and bright atmosphere is created. "Lights" are integrated into various functional spaces in different forms to highlight the artistic atmosphere. The hotel has about 60 floors, the sky lobby is on the 39th floor, and the guest rooms are located higher up. The lobby design is quite unique, with two floors high. The combination of wood color and black marble is deep and high-end. The excellent lighting from the large floor-to-ceiling windows and the hanging raindrop-shaped lamps highlight the charm of light. The design of the lobby bar is also very wonderful. Whether it is the chandelier representing fire-making by rubbing two sticks together, or the light and shadow design of the floor-to-ceiling windows, they are all irresistible. The lines of the internet-famous spiral staircase highlight the tension of the space. The inner stone and the outer metal surface are spliced ​​together, which is fashionable and elegant, and it is a holy place for making photos. The hotel's elevator is also very unique. A hollow sightseeing elevator is built inside the building. It is a bit dizzying to look down from the upper floors. I personally think that YANG’s design for the Westin Zhongshan is excellent. The public areas are wonderful, with a sense of luxury and fashion, even better than the Raffles Shenzhen. 2. Guest Rooms There are two main types of hotel suites. The Renovation Suite is larger and has many rooms. The higher the floor, the smaller the area. The Deluxe Suite has only four rooms. The hotel gave us a renovated suite, which is a corner suite with great lighting. The room is about 100 square meters in size, with master and guest bathrooms and a cloakroom. However, the master bathroom is too small, with only a washbasin. The bathtub is also inside the bathroom, with no view. If you want a window-side bathtub, choose a low level. The room design is pretty good, the overall tone is wood color, and there is a bit of vitality in the business feel. Personally, I think Westin is positioned higher than brands like Sheraton and Le Meridien, and the room decoration materials and hardware equipment are more advanced. For example, Samsung TVs, excellent beds and bedding, Grohe hardware, etc. The room is unobstructed and looks great when the weather is good~ 3. The lounge design is outstanding and the stove hanging from the ceiling is very cool. The lounge provides HH in the evening and only soft drinks during the day. The HH is quite average. Breakfast is served in the high-altitude all-day restaurant, with a fairly complete variety and a decent taste. V. Overall evaluation In general, Zhongshan Westin is still a satisfactory hotel.
